Why do guys just assume things?

If u don't call for a few days, its because u dumped them, if u dont respond to their e-mails quick enough its because ur shallow, self centered etc.
Why can't they just come an ask, politely why ur not returning their calls or e-mails?

All men are insecure. If a man is challenged by something or someone it totally wrecks his world. ( Inability to understand written instruction, inability to perform a task as well as he should or as well or better than a co-worker or associate etc) When you fail to reply quickly or timely, most men always assume the worst. It is the nature of the male to be this way. In order for him to work out the problem he is having, he automatically comes up with the worst possible scenario and fools himself into believing it to be fact. Men do not handle open or unanswered situations well. That is why there has to be an answer. When none avails or does not avail itself fast enough he has to substitute one to settle his inability to cope. Noting that this is not the absolute for every man, it does fit most of them. I guess this is why men are from mars and women are from Venus so to speak.

Guys are not into conversation like we are. They tend to prefer to assume things and act on them quickly when women most of the time like to think about things and then act on them. The thing about this though is if he is doing this a lot it could mean that he is very controlling and wants you to think only about him 24/7. This is a bad thing and not a relationship you want to be in. If he can not handle that you think about him a lot but not every second nor will you ever be like that then you need to kick him to the curb. He may be a future talk show visitor with his future wife telling Povich how he is so controlling she is not even allowed to call her own mother more than once a month, go to the grocery store without permission, or God forbid talk to another human being for any reason that is the opposite sex. I went through that and it is not fun. I once got into trouble for warming my car up for five minutes and then coming home from work. he swore that I was cheating on him and lying to him about how long I worked. He had my drive home timed to the minute. Seriously this actually happened to me. Unluckily for me he didn't show this side of him until we were married. Hopefully this is not the case for you. I couldn't even stop and get gas unless I let him know before hand that I needed gas and he usually wanted me to get it in the morning so he could follow me to the gas station while I was filling up my tank. God was I stupid back then. LOL As far as where my mother was conserned I was allowed to call her anytime I wanted to but when I told him I was going to my mom's for awhile he would call me every ten minutes there and ask me stupid questions just to make sure I was still there and not out some where else. I had a cell phone but he would call my mothers line just to be 100% for sure.

Assumptions are drawn based on facts. I am a women and I would assume the same thing for instance if a guy didnt call me for a few days he probably had something better to do. And as far as all guys assuming things, that is not true. Sometimes you can give guys a thousand hints that you are not really into them and they call anyways.

That is probably the way guys think. If they dont call us for a few days, I guess we are dumped, etc... Men, most men are not as mature as women and they have big egos that get in their way. We have to teach them. When they are young, they rely heavily on their macho guy friends for advice.

It is most likely because if he was to do those things to you, those assumptions would be why he is doing it. It could also be that is what he is hoping it would be. So I Suggest you think about the relationship and how it has been going then ask him to tell you why he makes assumptions then just coming straight out and ask you, "why are you doing these things?".

Some guys like to have a good line of communication with their girl. Even so, the clingy/psycho ones will assume the worst if you don't talk to them on a regular basis.

.NO clue.. Men need to come with manuals just like cars and appliances. So when they start to wear off and break we can look up what to do about setting them straight and in working order again

Gosh hun, they are men! Just like we're supposed to know without them saying if we are to be exclusive........if your in an actual monogamous relationship you should return their calls and email asap.....you do that because they matter to you, not because its polite......
