If Islam is a "peaceful religion," why do Muslims want to kill former Muslims who convert to Christianity?

I'm a muslim. Believing & following what Allah (SAW) & his prophets teachings is living a life in peace. Not all muslims is good like any other non-muslims. Muslims are not sacred people as if we cant commit mistakes.Not all muslims will go to heaven, only those who are following the will of God & the bad muslims will go to hell. We're just the same as you. If a christian, a jew or what so ever killed a human being do u care about what their religion is? No. It doesnt takes a genius to read between the lines. In any law, Treason is punished with death. In Islam, just converting to a religion does not apply death punishment, but instead if the converted person creates mischief in the islamic world by propagating corrupt, un-authentic beliefs that are NOT in the Islamic values, then he is put to death.

And this is Treason, leaving a religion and then destroying its framework by propagating slanders and mis-leading people.

Religious fundamentalism tends to warp the founding beliefs of a religion. I doubt that this desire you've noted is true in a majority of Muslim sects. This is like asking why Christians don't believe in evolution -- this is only true of the fundamentalists, not the general population of Christians.
