Hey there beautiful Christian Sister! That verse, as others have already pointed out, is in Jeremiah 29:11. What I want to point out is this: PLEASE BE CAREFUL about which "version" of the scriptures you use! There is ONE right version, the "Authorized" KING JAMES VERSION.....in our Engish Language. The OTHERS, ie NIV, NKJV, NLT, NASB, NEB, TM, etc are ALL what I call PER-versions of God's word, and I have TONS of factual documentation to back that up! Most people have NEVER studied this issue, but the BIBLE VERSIONS ISSUE is actually the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE facing us today as believers in Jesus Christ! From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, Satan's point of attack has ALWAYS been on THE AUTHORITY OF GOD'S WORD! His first words to the human race were,
"Yea, hath God said...?" Case in point about what I'm saying: the verse you've inquired about, Jeremiah 29:11. In the FALSE versions, it speaks of "the PLANS that I have for you" ; whereas in THE WORD OF GOD, he speaks of "the THOUGHTS THAT I THINK towards you". There is a MAJOR difference here. "Plans" are something not CONSTANT, whereas THOUGHTS that He is THINKING.....that is an ALWAYS thing! Also, the FALSE versions say God has "plans" to "prosper and not to harm you", whereas the WORD OF GOD states that His "thoughts that he thinks TOWARD" you are "thoughts of PEACE, and not of EVIL"......there is a MAJOR difference again between PROSPERITY and PEACE! There are MANY people who are "prosperous" who have NO peace! And there has been plenty of "harm" done to God's people over the years at the hands of the Devil and this GOD HATING WORLD! But "harm" is NOT the same as "evil"! Sometimes even GOD HIMSELF will "harm" His people.....Isaiah 53 speaks of how GOD HIMSELF was the one THROUGH THIS EVIL WORLD who "made Christ's soul an offerimg for sin" by "bruising Him"! God allows MUCH "harm" in the lives of His people.......that HE might be glorified! To say that God has "no plans for their HARM" is totally FALSE, according to scripture and church history! But the MAIN problem here is the CONCLUSION of this verse: the FALSE versions say, "to give you hope and a future", whereas the WORD OF GOD says, "to give you AN EXPECTED END." Tell me, if God's plans are merely to "give you a future", for HOW LONG? That is SO VAGUE! "An expected END is something DEFINITE! You can EXPECT this, with NO uncertainty! And "hope"....again, for HOW LONG? And here's the key: God says, "I know the thoughts that I think TOWARD YOU".......You do not get this sense of God being "FOR US" as Paul said in Romans 8:31, as you do here in Jeremiah 29:11 in the KJV! This is just ONE example of the MAJOR differences between the AUTHORIZED VERSION (KJV) and all of the "modern" so called "translations". They are ALL based on Origen's corruption of the scriptures going all the way back to the first century, and have come to us compliments of 2 unbelieving infidels named B.F. Westcott and F.J.A. Hort back in the late 1800's. This is all DOCUMENTED AND VERIFIABLE! Go to: www.avpublications.com! Gail Riplinger is a dear Sister in Christ and has done EXHAUSTIVE research on this subject! I have AT LEAST 20 different books by various authors, plus MANY of the FALSE (per)versions! They are NOT God's word, but SATAN'S COUNTERFEIT! I would be happy to discuss this issue more at length with you! As I've said, I have PROOF of what I'm saying! God bless you Sis! (Hope to hear from you!) -Stephen (Just an unworthy sevant of Jesus Christ our LORD!)
