First of all, AUDIOBAHN is GARBAGE! Now, lets move on to the good stuff:
MMATS Dreadnaut 12" in a custom ported box, ran by a MMATS monoblock D1500.1 Amp, and a 5 farad cap, 4 guage wiring will make ur head spin! Total cost: $2000 or so.
OR
Custom made tripple 12" box ported for three Memphis Car Audio PR series 12" subs wired to a Memphis PR1000.1 monoblock amp, 3 farad cap, 4 gauge wires. Total cost: $1200
OR
Dual 12" Ported box for 2 Nitro (2000W) 12" subs wired to a Rockwood Xplore 2000W amp, 2 farad cap, 4 gauge wires. Total cost: $ 600
The total cost for my advice: Priceless.

The lowest cost way to have a sound system that bangs is to mount the speakers loosely on the wall. When you hit the right note, the speakers will bang against the wall.
Actually, the way to find out how much power you need is to see how many square feet you are trying to fill. There is a formula to figure out how many watts of audio you need to fill the space.
If there is a large space you are trying to fill, you may need to stack your amplifiers. There is a public building I know of that has a number of power amps ganged together. (Line out from one amp to line in on the next.)

2 Audiobahn AW1206ts or AW1506ts with a hifnoics brutus 2000 watt rms 4000 max amp with the subs in a vented box. 350 for the amp and anywhere from 125 to 175 for each sub depending on how good you talk.

the only problem with the j13 is that you have to get a custome enclosure and that is a big chunck in everyones budget. i would recommend diamond audio d6 series. it is thier mid grade sub hard bangin, they use the power you give them very well and efficiently but dont need a lot, but if you got a big amp they will take it all day. good luck and keep them heads bangin. ohh yeah the most important thing in all systems is a good head unit, if you cant get a good signal to your subs nothing will sound good

I will have a 2000 watt Pioneer Amplifier with 2 12" Xplode Subwoofers in about a year. Its a decent cheap set up.. but definentally get a $300.00-$400.00 deck.

first off wuts the buget. ive had many stereo systems in my car and in my opinion do not use alpine for the money you pay they are very dissapointing you should go to your local stereo shop and get them to show you wut you are looking at in terms of power, quality, and price befor you buy. if they wont let you test the subs in display go somewhere else. from my experience go with rockford or kicker or a combination of both i am very happy with my kickers and will never buy an alpine again. my 400watts rms kickers will hit harder than a 3000watt x type alpine but really its up to you
