im christian and always will be,your muslim and always will be,ive been on the site about two months now i see all the religion wars and that will never stop.what i see is the small part of muslim fanatics really messing you guys up,they kill, your peace.i really dont think it will slow down unless some political high position muslims start condeming them very outwardly,t.v.,etc,etc..why dont they stand up and say something to the world about the fanatical ones...i really belive it would help the peaceful muslims alot .!!

No it's not going to help at all. Unfortunately Christian fanatics are teaching people to hate Muslims and Islam in Churches now.! And look at all the hateful questions and answers against Islam/Muslims. As you know this site is "world wide web" so the people from other parts of world get to see it. You think they will just enjoy all these hates.?
Just do your part;
1. stop spreading hate,
2 .stop being racist
3. stop invading other countries
4. stop being oil-vampire
than you will see the result.

Your sentiment is a good one. You make a mistake, however, in your reasoning.

Good muslims do not need to answer for or respond to the behavior of bad muslims, just as christians do not need to respond to the behavior of bad christians. Any rational person knows that the actions of a single lunatic speak nothing of the constituents of his religion.

Most importantly, normal muslims are not responsible for the behavior of homicidal muslims, just like regular christians are not responsible for the behavior of lunatic christians. It is not the job of muslims to police the behavior of other muslims. That's the job of the actual police.

For example, I'm an atheist. And I know that most christians are decent human beings; they don't want to forcibly convert the entire world, and they don't blow up abortion centers for fun - despite the fact that there are thousands of incidents of christians attempting just those such things. I recognize, as do all rational people, that christians who are lunatics are not the same as normal christians, and I recognize this without having to be told so by "christian leaders" or by the news.

Moreover, what makes you think muslims don't "stand up and say something to the world" ? If you ask any American muslim about terrorism, you'd get the same answer from them as you'd get from any other american - it's bad, and it's got to stop.

You do realize that most muslims don't really have access to the media, right? Your average muslim can't get his message on the news any more than you can. That doesn't mean that he doesn't have something to say, though. It means that you've got to ask him, rather than making assumptions.

You should probably stop watching televised news, too. It distorts reality, to a rather disturbing degree. And it does not give coverage that is representative of what is actually happening in the world. Read the newspapers, or go on the internet.

Anyway, your question is valid, but I think the problem is not so easy to overcome. I mean, Christians drop bombs on people and think it is more civilized than what terrorists do. It's all lunacy!
