I have, but i didnt have the energy to keep doing it but wish i hadnt. I do it sometimes still, its great for anxiety attacks, and stress relief, also helps to sleep better if you do it not long before bed. As for long term effects...no, other than the knowledge and being able to do it when i need to. I just use the breathing techniques, but i dont really believe in the whole theory of it..yes it alters your consiosness to a point, but all the stuff about being able to heal and getting special gifts...idunno if i buy it. But the breating, like i said, its great for panic!

No, but perhaps it is a fancy term for yoga meditation? I've done meditation before, but I haven't had any of the results that this website describes.

I had a prof who did it. He claimed, however, that you could get the same results from playing a woodwind instrument. That essentially in breath work you were just stimulating your parasympathetic nervous system.

This was his opinion only.

is that the practice "created" by stanislav grof? if so, an ex-girlfriend did a workshop with him at esalen in that technique, can you believe almost 25 years ago, and found it very helpful. and, since she's a virgo and rather bright and discriminating, i'd accept her thoughts on it. but, naturally it's a subjective assessment, nonetheless.;-)
