This morning I woke up with a slight headache, thinking it was nothing I moved a long with my day. As the day progressed my head started hurting more (all over and in general more towards the back). I decided to take a nap. After I woke up, my head at the back hurt even more and has progressed the rest of the night. I have a fever, have a dry cough and feel sick to my stomach. The pain is severe.. it feels like someone is cutting my head open while at the same time... trying to squeeze my brain into a ball. I have cried for the past hour it has hurt so much, and it doesn't look like it is going to go down. I have tried tylenol but it does absolutely nothing for the pain. Does anyone have any tips as to how to get the pain to go down, or even as to what it is?

The nausea started around mid-afternoon and has gotten progressively worst as well. I can turn my head in all directions but my head hurts more if I do, or if I suddenly jerk my head, or if I laugh/cough/etc.

It could be very serious. Don't take any chances. Young people have dropped dead after experiencing head pain (aneurysm, etc.).

It's probably just a headache accompanying your illness, but why guess when your health is at stake.

It's best to err on the side of caution.

Take care...

A severe headache, stiff neck, fever, and nausea are symptoms of meningitis which can be life threatening. You need to be evaluated by a doctor IMMEDIATELY. Don't wait. I hope you feel better.

(This does not sound like a migraine or a tumor--it sounds like a viral or bacterial infection.)

You trust your life with people on yahoo answers? Chances are it is a head cold or the flu. But then again it could be a tumor. If you are concerned get a medical opinion from your doctor.
