Yeah I know this will sound incredibly stupid but I spend a huge amount of my time daydreaming (and thoroughly enjoying myself) I just can't seem to stop myself! It looks pretty wierd cuz I just walk around the house in my own little fantasy world and sometimes I mumble 2 like I'm actually there (I know I'm not! well, sort of) and I laugh and stuff.

Only problem is I'm starting to do it in public and around my friends and stuff and to be quite honest I would rather just be back at home alone where no one is there to bother me and I can do what I do best,

However I still have some self-awareness still resigned somewhere in me and I know prefering to walk around your house zoning of to your own little reality than hang out with your actual friends (Who you love ever so much) and getting on with your actual life (Which isn't so bad as you would think) is not extremely healthy.

So what do you guys think I should do?

Pls don't say something like go see a doctor or confide in your friends. I would really like to deal with this on my own

I do that all of the time, nothing wrong with it. Actually, you just have an overactive imagination. I would concentrate on writing. I bet you'd do well. I did. I've been published.

sometimes reality can be trying, or boring, or both...and we create a world safer and more pleasant to live in than this one. Daydreaming isn't bad, unless it is destructive to your reality. Reality is what you make of it. Maybe you can try to improve yours, volunteer somewhere, get a job (if you can or don't have one).

You sound like a really creative person...why don't you start writing your fantasy world down. Draw it out, or learn to draw. Maybe you are meant to create and you are not creating...

you cant live in a dream world forever, cuz if you do, you'll wake up alone. Don't give in to the want to be off in your daydreams all the time. Go out, talk to people, and be sure to try to stay grounded as best as you can. I can answer this better but would rather expand through email if you want me to explain.

Sounds like your reality isn't all that exciting so you go inside yourself to find what you want. I do that, too. I also talk out loud like I'm interacting with my fantasy world. So, you are not alone. There are lots of us who do it. I think it keeps me sane since I'm so unhappy with my real life no matter what I do to change it. Sometimes the fantasy world helps me feel "normal."

OMG!!I have the same problem! Its because we are bored with our own lives and want certain things for our future. Some of the things I dream about make me feel uncomfortable around certain people and sometimes I don't want to leave my house. I have flashbacks a lot. But its all good and fun. Just enjoy it for now.

there is nothing wrong with some fantasy it is perfectly healthy...it could be that you are somewhat unhappy or dissatisfied with your current life with causes you to retreat into a fantasy world you have created yourself...I just think you are highly imaginative.

Some ways to deal with this is to write or draw out your fantasies. This can help control them a little bit so they arent interferring with your social life and work or school.

If it continues to be a problem for you or if it intensifies dont discredit counseling it can help you deal with underlying problems but i really think its nothing to worry about and you can totally deal with this issue on your own

well i know i do that too. since i dont have a gf i have this imaginary friend sort of gf that makes up for it and when i go places i just sort of picture her being there too. this may sound really stupid but to me it isnt so bad. i think it is great cause this way i dont actaully need to go out and find someone. i just sort of imagine them already being here the way i want them to be.

What I would say is that you need to act on some of these fantasy's, and get them over with! And try to figure out what are you missin that makes you have them all the time!

Set some time aside to enjoy your fantasies each day. Look forward to it and only allow them at that time. The rest of the time, welcome to the insanity of being sane.
