Your question is not clear to me now. I feel you are meaning Coronary arteries Bye-pass Grafting (CABG) surgery. For any surgery age, weight are not the criteria. Only the body should be fit to withstand the surgery. I have undergone CABG twice with a gap of 11 years. If the surgery has to be done means it should be done and the Doctor will decide. He will regulate medicines, food extra to reduce or your weight and you need not worry or ask any one.

You really should be at least 100 pounds overweight or have comorbities such as Diabetes or a debilitating condition to even consider or be considered for this risky surgery. This surgery should only be as a last resort.

most places require you to be 100 pds over weight , although there are some that require you to be 75/85 pds overweight. also some go by the bmi factor which i can tell you that your bmi is 32. which is obese. but not morbidly obese. morbidly obese is a bmi greater than 40. which is usually required for the gastric bypass.

The doctor should be able to tell you if you are over weight or not. He can also tell if you are a candidate for the surgery. This surgery is a big deal it is serious.

I was 276 & 5.3. A dr will tell you - but if you stop eating sugars, carbs & drink no sodas it will greatly help - I had the surgery now am 130. I would do it all over again but there can be complications.
