My daughter is much younger, but loves pink. The problem is after a short while pink starts to make you think of Pepto Bismol.
What I did was use lots of pink accents and a small amount of pink on the walls. I got the idea from a disney.com and Behr paint Cinderella's room advertisement. It was a lot of work to do the molding and all that, but if you tape off the areas rather than using wood you could do something similar for less than $100.

Here's what I ripped it off fro... I mean what I was inspired by:

I painted the pink semi gloss, the two shades of blue flat, the ceiling and trim high gloss. When using light colors like pink, use primer first and have them tint the primer to the color you'll be using where you buy your paint. It will ensure a nice even top coat.

You could use painter's tape and do pink and white(or whatever color) stripes on 1 or 2 sides...or if you know someone that could paint a muriel that would be awsome! For inexpensive home made curtains buy window shades and let her decorate them with a little bit of paint or some stickers. Buy a set of sheets that match your color scheme and cut them to fit the windows...sew the edges under and put in a hem. On the top put a hem and cut a slit in it so you can push a curtain rod throuh it. Go to HGTV.com and they've got a lot of ideas there. Another website is sulkey.com I think...something like that. They have a lot of projects. Good luck and have fun decorating. Remember to let her help out a lot...that will make it more special than anything!

What colour is the room now? I suggest painting the walls some sort of light grey and getting a pink-based (with some grey if possible) bedspread to match it with some light, translucent pink curtains (or brey and pink designed. You can find lots of fabrics in this colour so, if they're on sale, it's probably cheaper just make them yourself and buy a cheap curtain rod you won't be able to see. The grey is mature and the pink is fun. Just the perfect mixture. Of course, ask your daughter first. Good luck.

I'd check out decorating ideas off of either of these sites:

www.SouthernLiving.com
www.bhg.com
www.hgtv.com

I'm sure you'd find some great ideas. As for paint. Check out your local Home Depot or Menards stores. Sometimes they have paint really cheap. People may buy a gallon or two and realize the colors aren't what they wanted. Today I actually found 5 gallons for $15.00! They also had smaller cans for $5.00.

www.pbteen.com is the Pottery Barn website for their teen furniture catalog.

Great ideas - just mimic their look...
Spend alittle more on the furniture and the comforter will be the focus of the room since it's the largest color source in the room.

Have fun...

Kids love abnormally colored lights.

I'd suggest plugging rose-tinted soft light (non-shadow producing) bulbs into a few wall mounted accent lamps.
