I've heard that they're FANTASTIC pets, and one of the smartest dog breeds out there.

For the right owner. Terriers can be difficult. I like them, but could not own one. Too hyper and too much barking and digging in general!!!!!!!!

There are a couple of HUNDRED breeds.Go read the BREED STANDARDS!!!Go to shows & MEET THEM!!!
Can STILL be great WORKING TERRIERS,btw.

Generally yes, most of them are very friendly and playful; however, it also depends on how they were raised.......
