Just another scare tactic. They will use everything and anything they can think of at this point. For many Americans the price of gas is their number one issue, telling them that the price of gas will skyrocket is just scaring/ blackmailing them.
If we had a day of mass deportation and ALL illegals are sent home...what would happen to the demand on oil ??
Energy wise and gas ?? The demand would not be so high and hopefully we would not have to depend on foreign oil.
I honestly believe one of the reasons that Bush kisses V. Fox's *** and bends over backwards for the illegal Mexicans is he has his eye on Mexico's oil. ( I could be wrong, but I doubt it )

People that say this are showing their lack of confidence; they mostly just don't want to contemplate any change.

The illegal workers amount to about three percent of American workers; the government should simply give them all a oneway pass on the Greyhound back home.

The restaurants etcetera are simply stick in the muds. If they paid the busboy twenty dollars an hour, he would still be handling the dishes of a hundred diners, and the cost per table would be about twenty cents.

Some agriculturists say they cannot live without their exploitative labor practices; fine, step aside and let some new managers in. You will note that cotton is no longer picked by hand, it is picked by JohnDeere machines. Where now are those that said the cotton industry would die with out slaves; where now the next generation that said cotton will die with out the sharecropper system ? They are in their graves and gone.

They put WAAAY to much importance in illegal immigrant workers. Even if prices did go up, I would gladly pay a few dollars more for any produce I needed rather than keep supporting illegal people in this country. I believe we would be better off in the long run. I won't be running into Canada with my hand out expecting THEM to feed me, for d@mn sure. I will grow my own d@mn vegetables & fruits. (already grow most of them) The USA has never and never will FALL into economical demise due to the LOSS of illegal immigrants. They do NOT hold the USA together.

Prices will not go up because there will be somone there willing to do it for that price. By people saying that the companys having to pay Americans more is calling them all greedy which is a bunch of BS. There would be plenty of americans who need money out there. I have went and did stuff like that for a couple extra bucks. The best way to fix it is to reform welfare so that it truly forces people to get jobs and there will be plenty of them lining up for the lower paying jobs.

Scare tactics by the wealthy. They do not want you to know the truth. They are pocketing so much money by paying these people slave wages while helping to drive done other peoples wages, increasing medical cost, and basically screwing the working person. Its all a lie! Remember real wages have gone down for the average American while the rich have seen their pay increase by over 100% in the last 4 years. Beside who going to clean the wealthy politicians homes???

the prices have gone steadily up and the wages haven't caught up in the last five or more years, so what the hell would be the difference other than our tax dollars would be spent on us for a change? they wage is 6 and 7 dollars an hour at McDonald's to flip burgers, something wrong with that picture.

"It is NOT racist to call these people "illegal aliens" In fact, "illegal aliens" is the only term used in federal laws and regulations to describe criminals (and they ARE criminals) who come into our country illegally. They are not illegal immigrants, not undocumented immigrants, not migrant workers, and not day laborers - they're ILLEGAL ALIENS. " This is a quote from one of the sites you posted, I'll agree the word Illegal aliens isnt racist, its just ignorant, just like the people that say "we should round them up and send them back" lol its because of the laws in this country that they are illegal...I'm an immigrant and I'll admit I was "undocumented" for a couple of years, when you're in that situation you take whatever job you can get at whatever pay and take whatever treatment comes with that, and the only reason you do it is to have a chance at "the american dream"...honestly I cant see how many "americans" would work in fields picking strawberries for crappy pay with no benefits! That's why they say the prices will "skyrocket" farmers (and other industries) will have to pay workers more, and therefore the product will cost more.

Prices will go down when the illegals stay home and grow the produce in Brazil etc. for sale here. already happened with orange juice. Wonder why its so cheap? When the groves are shrinking here? Tanker ships of orange juice coming here and going to europe.

Every study I have seen shows that labor is such a small percentage of the final cost of fresh produce that the added cost to an average household will be approximately ten dollars a year total.

Didn't look at your links. But I will say prices will not skyrocket that much if the illegals are sent home.....remember, demand rules the price in "capitalistic",society. I personally can go without lettuce and cabbage and tomatoes.
