Im also 13...im getting them removed cause there to big and they swole up pretty big in the winter.

it wont hurt where u think u will die,but yea im not gonna lie it will hurt,then it will be a discomfort for a while,but u will live and you will be fine! plus-u get lots of ice cream!

I had mine bumped off whilst i became 7.My throat became very sore after wards.I have been given to consume a lot of ice cream.My voice did no longer replace. i think of i became out of school for some week yet that became an prolonged time in the past so i do no longer understand approximately college for the reason that issues are becoming to be extra stepped forward in drugs.sturdy luck. i understand they say you on no account have sore throats back yet definite you do.They do away with your tonsils no longer your throat.you basically can no longer have tonsilitis back.

Yes, for about a week. You'll be told you can eat all the jello and ice cream you want, but you probably won't want to, you'll be a little miserable. Motrin for children, Tylenol, something of that sort will probably be recommended by the doctor. Heck, its only a week that you get to make everyone around you miserable cause your throat hurts pretty bad, use it to your advantage, cause they'll be tired of that after 3 - 4 days and will be ready for you to be well.

I had my tonsils out when I was 5. Back then they did it if you got sick alot. I remember that they put me under and when I awoke I could'nt talk. I don't remember it hurting ...just that it felt a little sore. Like when you have a sore throat. The next day I was still in the hospital when President Kennedy was shot. That upset me more!!! Good luck and ask your history teacher how old I am!!

Yeah it will. Got mine out at 16 and it was awful. Don't buy into that "all the ice cream you can eat" line, either. Ice cream wicked hurt. Stick with popsicles. Good luck.

i'm 13 too. My mother got that operation. She said that after the surgery, her throat hurt like she had a bad cold. But, afterwards you get to eat lots of ice cream!!!!!Good luck!

It won't hurt when they take them out, but it will hurt later. Keep lots of applesauce, popsicles and ice cream around.

Don't get yourself all worried, of course you'll be a little uncomfortable for a couple of days but you'll be fine , stick with popsicles..And don't worry you'll pull through .. You'll be glad once it healed ..

it won't hurt.the recover period is two weeks, but after the 1st week you will get better quicker if you chill with one of your best friends who makes you laugh.laughter actually fixes your throat.
I went through it at your age myself.

Well your throat will be pretty scratchy.
But popsicles will really help.
