Actually I would say that it is wrong. God is going to know if you love him or not. If you don't love and accept him then it isn't going to do you any good to worship him even if you are afraid. You might as well go find a religion you are comfortable with and aren't afraid of.

Yes. You serve God because it is the right thing to do, not for any gain. Also, don't presume that there is a balance scale. Moses was prevented from entering the Promise Land for doing just on thing wrong. The question that comes to mind is whether his sin was what he did, or that he presumed in his heart that because of all the good he did, that he would be forgiven.

Just because one attempts to serve God does not mean he is saved. King Saul thought many times thought he was serving God but in fact was doing great evil!
Your service isnt necessarily tied to your salvation either. Salvation is a gift of grace that you didnt deserve in the 1st place. Our service does however depend on how we get rewarded in the afterlife.

Christianity is a religion of transformation.
One does not believe in order to stay out of hell; one believes because this belief sets you free.
There are so many verses from the Bible that talk about taking up ones cross. or losing yourself in order to save yourself. So many verses encourage us to radically change the way we view ourselves, the world around us, and our responsibilities in relation to God.
In other words, I truly believe that being a Christian involves not putting all our focus on salvation; rather, we should ask each day, "God, how can I better server you?"
After I die, God will take care of everything. For now, I do His will, and I am a happier, more grateful person because of it.
Peace to you and your family.

No, it's not wrong. Two things make me serve God:
1) I am persecuted so much, relatives in my father side don't want to see my family progress. They usually send ghosts to attack us. So, it's an obligation for me to serve God, if I don't serve God I'll never be nothing in my life, no matter how much efforts i make. 2) Hell is the last place someone will want to be.

We are supposed to fear God. Serving him for fear of losing your salvation IS fearing him and his wrath. So no, I don't feel it is wrong. Have you read Revelations? Scariest book I've ever come across...

Most Christians actually have a desire to serve God.
Other than salvation, it's an effect, a more physical effect, that becoming saved has.
Not that you shouldn't fear the Lord. That is expected of you also.

You are God-fearing. It means you believe in him. Thank God for the salvation he has given you. Never be ashamed of fearing God.

Well for One.....u should never have to fear anything in ur faith....and to serve out of fear is wrong.......Bottom line is U might not be on the right path,,,,,the path of ur faith should be of love and not fear or obligation cause "others" tell u so,,,when a faith starts controlling ur mind and body,,,there a "CULT"..to follow a faith u must feel the calling of it.......cause of ur confusion,,there will be others with there fire and brinstone redrick,,,tellin "U" what u must do,,,,u do what ur "HEART" tells u...follow ur heart and u will find ur "PATH"
