OH NO THIS WILL NEVER DO!
My dear fellow you have such a narrow view of marriage it makes me hurt to read it. A faithful, loving spouse is a lifelong friend you can share everything with. Build a stable home, share hobbies and interests with. When a married couple have love and trust it is a wonderful thing.
I fear you have been watching too much television.
Lately, the shows are horrible. They show people using people, marriage is a big joke and no one stays married.
I think hollywood has employed satan himself as a script writer and you have fallen victim to thinking that is how marriage is supposed to work.
Find a couple that have been married for at least 35 years and ask them why their marriage works.
Good Luck

A spouse certainly is good for sex and security. But mainly a spouse is your closest family member. Someone who is there for you and you are there for (ummm. I guess that's a kind of security) But more than just security--a peace--an extension of yourself. The father or mother of your progeny--you being connected with them even after you die in a sense (not in the mormon way) through your offspring and their desendents. The closest relationship possible, even if it doesn't always feel close, for better or for worse, rich or poor etc.

After 14 years of marriage, I can say that it's quite a bit more than that. Thank GOD! I'd hate to live such a mundane existence with a rommate. A husband is much better!
