In the end, who will have relieved the most suffering in the world (no Windows jokes please) Mother Teresa or Bill Gates?

Please think before answering since the automatic response will be MT. Remember, BG will give $100 billion dollars to charity and will have created 10's of thousands of good paying jobs...

I would say Mother Teresa because she was religious. Money may help people have food but faith will save peoples souls and their lives on this earth if it's meant to be.

Mother Teresa!! She gave ALL that she had to the poor and dying and lonely! I think what bill gates gave away was a real blessing . But MT gave herself ! and that's worth a lot more then $100 billion dollars.And I think she did relieve a lot more ppl the BG!

I'm serious about that, too. A lot of people get enamored with MT without actually knowing anything about her activities. She didn't do much to help the poor and the suffering, she just had a lot of publicity about the matter.

Bill Gates is actually doing something about these things.

And no, bill gates will not give 100 billion to charity; he never had that much money. However, he does indeed spend many billions of dollars on his foundation (which is a charity).

Neither. Relieving suffering on bodily platform ultimately does not help anyone very much, because body is only meant to get sick, get old and die. Suffering is actually relieved by those great spiritual masters who teach to the human society spiritual knowledge, helping them raise beyond the body and realize their eternal identity as a spirit soul. If you are not envious, I can tell you the name of the person who will have relieved the most suffering in the world.

in my opinion, Bill Gates have the most impact on the world. The reason basucally the same as you have posted above, Gates uses his fortune to create thousands of jobs as well as donating money to research facilities for new cures such as HIV vaccine, which developed, can prevent millions if not billions of peolpe from getting HIV in the future. Gates also uses his money to save the poor from starvation and decrease illteracy in the third world countries.

Mother Teresa. Gates' money helps, but Mother Teresa actually DID something. PLUS, is wasn't just her: she had a lot of help & even though she's dead, her missions lives on, she is, in fact, STILL helping people all over the world...

Because those who benefitted from her actions were given the deepest human love along with actions. She gave herself with her actions.

Bill Gates just hands out money to look good. His standard of living certainly isn't affected by his actions. He didn't drop from first wealthiest to second wealthiest by giving up any money. It's a drop in the bucket to him.

So actions done with love are deeper felt.

It is said (but I can't prove it) that Mother Teresa used to manipulate people's pain so as to show herself as the hero who saved their souls. On the other hand, Bill Gates holds an aggressive monopoly in one of the world's greatest business markets. Both suck.
