Is it more productive to just think about more important stuff? I don't really feel anything good can ever come from having crushes because you usually tend to desire things you can't have, not the things you take for granted, so you'll never be satisfied.

I agree with you 100% but imagine what girls would talk about if they didn't have any crushes life would be very boring and remember woman are never satisfied with what they have!!

If that's how you feel, that's great. However, you can't expect other people to relate to you. Perhaps they do get a lot of good things from dating.
