some crazy fundamentalists reviled against me at the way how i look! why, men are not suppose to look pretty and bright? especially Bowie and all other famous androgynes, including my avator! that's my style and their, and it's not necessarily transvestite nor homosexuality, even though it comes eyeliners and lipsticks! and God doesn't care about appearances! and he could bless our appearances and personas! and i do love Jesus!

i know God looks through our hearts, unlike those stupid fundamentalists! F__k the Fundamentalisms! they're ideas are just totally unfair!

Well... my mother always used to get upset at the clothes I wanted to wear to church. They weren't anything offensive or wild, but apparently not "appropriate for God's house". I guess God DOES care about the clothes we wear and how we look... at least according to my mother.

you seem as if you're on both sides of the fence on this. You say you love Jesus and you're saved. But then you seem very bitter and hateful. Who gives a crap what people think about you. I have a silly nose ring and do you have any idea how many middle aged to older people pass by me and go ,"oh my god" and just give me dirty looks. Now you're androgynous. Does that mean you're gay. Cause if you are, then I think that's a little more important then how you look cause homosexuality is against the Bible, not wearing eyeliner.

No he doesn't but he does care about whether or not we spend eternity with Him. And His approval does not necessarily include how WE make ourselves look, there is a difference.He knew what he was doing when he fashioned you,he makes no mistakes,so why try to alter it so much? Are you not comfortable in your male body that you must try to blur who you really are? Just wondering, I mean maybe you need a second opinion? I wonder were they reviling against you personally or the "lOOk and the meaning behind it? It is very sad that so many can't just be themselves they have to add layers,cover up alter. This is an interesting question. Appearance is mentioned in the Bible...

1) men are told not to "cut the hair at the sides of the heads."

2) women are told "to cover their heads"

3) the gate to Heaven is a "Narrow Gate and some will not be able to pass through." I guess we need to watch our weight.

4) men must be circumcised.

I am pretty sure that Metro-sexuals didn't occure to the folks that wrote the Bible so as long as you follow the basics then you should be ok.

1 Samuel 16

Deuteronomy 22:
5. The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

Timothy 2:
9. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in Modest Apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

AND

Romans 12:
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Here is my opinion. God cares that we take care of our bodies. But I am with you that I don't think God cares about our personal appearance too much. Meaning, Christians don't have to look "plain." That said, we also should be careful that we're not leading others into sin by how we dress. So... if you are dressing a certain way to attract sexual attention... that's bad. But if you have a style that you like and don't think it's causing people to lust after you... go for it.

okay first , I am not judging you as I don't know you - I am just letting you know what the word says and what my experience has been.

First God looks at the inner man, not the outside- He looks at the heart.

What is on the inside will eventually affect what is on the outside- Jesus said if a cup is dirty first clean the inside and in the process the outside will get clean also.

God said that a man is not to wear what is to be for a woman and a woman is not to wear what is to be for a man. The idea of men looking and acting like men and women looking and acting like women is reitterated all throughout the Bible.

Now, if you truly love Jesus, then you will obey his commands- it does not mean that you accept Christ and you are immediately perfect- we all have things that need improvement, but you need to look up these scriptures and pray and ask god how He wants you to present yourself. there are two main reasons that one would not be obedient, either ignorance of the command or rebellion. Once you know and understand the scriptures, pray and ask God to change your desires and help you to learn to and desire to present oyurself in a way that glorifies Him.

No man should attempt to judge your heart but you- you need to judge and ask yourself if you are just walking in rebellion in this area and if this is an area that God would have you change. I have experienced a change in an area regarding appearance. When I laid down my rebellion over the issue, God changed my desire, now I just could not imagine dressing the way I used to - it makes me uncomfortable- I am completely comfortable and actually want to dress the way I do now- I don't feel forced or pressed or guilty in any way- God just changed me from the inside out.

*******But just so you know, if you came to my church looking just like you do now, you would be comletely accepted and no one would give you a hard time or attempt to change your look and that is how it should be in the church- that change has to come as a result of your relationship with god and no man can judge that*********

It's true God only cares about your heart and what actions you take today to bring yourself closer to him. He gave up his life to die as a criminal so everyone can go to heaven (if they believe in him and repent for their sins). But that being said, people do make judgements about you which are based upon how you are dressed. If you embrace the gothic lifestyle other people will either think you are stupid or weird without even knowing "the real you". So in short, God may not care but other people will make untrue judgements about you.

I don't believe God takes notice of such superficial things as appearance because the soul is the the true measure of an individual. Man in his infinitely lack of wisdom judges upon the visual. By the way I think you're avatar's cool, it reminds me of Gary Numan.

God wants what is on the inside to look good, and cussing isn't looking good in God's eyes, although I realize you are upset.

But ask yourself who you are trying to impress by putting on makeup - it's not God, so it must be people. If you are trying to impress people or get their attention, instead of God's then of course you are going to run into those who disapprove. It can only bother you if you are seeking the approval of other people. If you are not getting the approval you are seeking, instead of trying to change others attitudes about you, you should consider changing you. You cannot change others, you can only change yourself.
