It's up to the parents. I bet yours made you into a person that wants to work and do well. That's what Donald Trump did and why he has his daughter is part of his corporation and helping him on his show.
The Hilton's didn't do that, which explains Nichole and Paris. I don't know who Paris' father was, but Nichole's was Lionel Ritchie; a musician who used to spend a lot of time on the road. He is still in Nichole's life and he has tried to get her to eat more, but she isn't listening to him very much.
I fly the straight and narrow path, and that's because of my parents. Our household was strict, but the worst punishment my parents gave us is when they said, "I am disappointed in you." That did more than any “time out,” grounding or hitting could ever do. That simple statement would rock my world. We had our problems, every family does, and I regret to say that my dad and I fought a lot when I reached 17. But, my parents didn’t need to punish us harshly because it was inconceivable to for use to do some of the things that people like Paris and Nicky Hilton get away with.
In my family there were five of us, and later 7 (counting the parents). I rarely fought with my sisters, and when I see how a “typical” family behaves toward each other I can’t understand it. There are even kids who hit their parents! I could no more do that then I could make water run uphill. It would have seemed impossible to me, and it still does. As we got older we had to do our own laundry, vacuum our room, and other family chores. I was doing my own laundry at 12, and I was shocked when I met adults who didn’t know how to do it.
When I just started High School my mother had two more kids, and both parents were working (so the three oldest could go through college). So the older children had to help raise the babies. I have fed, bathed, and changed a baby; I have done everything except the 4 a.m. feedings (thank gosh). My two younger sisters (born 1 and 2 years later) don’t like taking care of the kids, because of that they never wanted children of their own. I would love to have kids; I know some of the joys of being a parent, and I know how to handle a kid, without breaking or damaging them. Which is much better than most men can claim.
The parents are key to how a child is raised and develops, but there are other influences, like school and friends. Look at one of Paris’s friends Lindsay Lohan. She has gotten too drunk on a weeknight and had a hangover so she didn’t go to work the next day. When the major star of the movie doesn’t show up that shuts production down and can cost thousands to tens of thousands each day! She isn’t handling her responsibilities very well, and neither is Paris or her sister. I am sure that your friends were different. If you were raised in a wealthy family and turned out all right then look at your friends. I bet you had more friends like Trump’s daughter than Nicky or Paris Hilton. You parents didn’t let their money spoil you.
What kind of school did you go to? Did you go to a rich kid’s school with low standards, or did you go to a school that required you to perform better and to work hard for your grades? If bet it was more of the later than the former (I also bet Paris Hilton would have trouble understanding what I meant by later and former).
When raising children if it’s often nurture, rather than nature. A child’s nature is set by their genes and their parents. Humans are intelligent animals and we can often rise above out genes. This takes inner strength and good training. You can thank your parents for that. Your school and your friends also had a lot to do with how you turned out. You are whom you hang around with. The friends you attract are a good representation of how you are. And your parents are the people you hang out with the most during your formative years.

I believe that because in most cases the parents got where they are in life because they are hard workers and know how to stay on a path to success. They didnt become successful by being slackers and out doing drugs. So the parents must take these good work habits and good morals and pass them down to there children! So the children grow up with a a good role model:)

It depends on the parents. If a parent gives a child too much and doesn't teach him/her how to work, they will get a spoiled child. However, if a parent teaches a child the value of hard work and self discipline along with high moral values, they get better kids. The spiritual and moral aspect are a key factor in raising good kids. Teaching kids to have an outward focus also helps them not to be self centered but to care about others.
Anyone that has too much money and too much time on their hands in bound to get into trouble!

By their parents raising them right. Teaching right and wrong can go a long way. I think some rich kids mommies and daddies are too busy to raise their children. Kids need and long for discipline. If all parents raised their children with some morals maybe so many kids wouldnt wind up on drugs.

People are people.
The rich kids are tempted by their money and freedom.
The poor ones are tempted by crime and drugs and lack of opportunity.
It's all sin, just different types.
