I'm interested in hearing from Wiccan people of both sexes about Wicca in general and how it makes your life better. Religious sense, not material, please. I've studied it from books, but never been around anyone that practiced it. Anyone with common sense, I'd enjoy hearing from you!

For me (Pagan, but with strong Wiccan influence) it means being more in tune with the cycles and rhythm of the world around me. It means having a sense of comfort and solace that things are "as they should be", a sense of Balance. Feeling connected to something greater than myself. Feeling grateful for the gifts and natural bounty of the world around me, the beauty and wonder of it. That even as all things are born, all things must die, but it's not an end - rather a natural progression of the cycle of life.

It has helped me look at myself and my way of dealing with people and situations. The Threefold Rule has helped me to let go of past anger and hurts, because harboring and feeding that anger and negativity hurts me far more than it hurts anyone else. I don't spend/waste time plotting "revenge" on people - especially the futile sort of "yeah well if I had a hammer he'd be REALLY sorry" sort of stuff that serves no purpose but to make ME feel more miserable as I revisit it and feed energy into it. I've found that letting it go, grounding it out, and going on with my life is much less stressful than stewing over what I "want to do" or what I "ought to do" to someone to "get even with them".

It makes me more conscious of my actions and their ramifications - not only on me and my immediate surroundings, but the ripple or domino that my actions can have beyond my immediate environs.

I find more appreciation in the little things - the growth of baby birds from egg to fledgeling to juvenile to adult when they finally take wing and fly away, to start lives of their own and the cycle begins again. The sense of accomplishment that comes from tending my herbs, the sense of wonder that comes from standing in my oak trees and realizing that they're far older than I am.

And if it seems that in this rambling entry I haven't made one mention of "and I can use spells to get what I want", there's a reason for that...

Wicca makes my life better in many ways. I have been practicing Wicca for four years now. It has helped me in controlling my negative thoughts about things and people and letting go of these thoughts and energy and therefore leading a better life. Before, the hurtful things that people say to be, judging when they didn't know me, etc. made me have very negative feelings toward these people and I have learned that I was only hurting myself and now I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off of me!

I am now also more in tune with nature and my surroundings and such other things. I take the time to stop and look at nature around me, hear the birds singing, even stop to watch the airplanes fly above my head.

I have made a connection with the divinities in the last several years that I did not have before when I was Christian. I truly believe that they surround me in my life and protect me and everyone around me.

The rituals that I do help me to deal with things, cleanse myself of negativity, help others around me, and feel even closer to them and the Lord and Lady.

I am not sure how to answer your question about Wicca in general. If you have studied, you must have a good picture of what it is and involves. I think that, just like any other religion, it is different with every person, everyone incorporates a little of themselves in it. If you would like sites to learn more, contact me and I will give you a list of some really good sites about Wicca and other practicioners.

Hope this helps you in whatever journey you are on right now!!!!
Blessed Be!!!!

I am a 24 year old male practitioner of the Shamanic witchcraft. I have found through my rituals and meditations and so forth that I am able to control my own future better than I used to think. I practice both the white arts and the black arts because I think we need balance to survive properly. It is the whole YIN YANG theory.

Another thing, books alone do not teach a whole lot about the belief. Alot of the material that one learns is held in their head and not written down for the general public to see.

The Shamanic Witchcraft teaches those that already have the ability how to heal themselves and others around them through ritual and spells.

My advice is if you are truly interested in Wicca/Paganism/Witchcraft, try to find people in your area that know alot about the paths and learn from them. They will show you more than you will ever find in a book.

I hope this helps you answer your question. If nothing else, you can contact me through my profile and we could talk more about Witchcraft.

Personally I don't think Wicca makes my life better in any way. It is simply the way I practice my spirituality. My spirituality gives me something to strive towards. That gives me hope. That gives me a goal to reach.

My experiences of working with people in a coven created bonds which are stronger than those of normal friendships. Bonds which can be described (I am borrowing this from Sorita D'Este www.avalonia.co.uk) "the family you choose".

In this way Wicca has given me friendships with people from a variety of walks of life, some whom I would never have met if it was not for Wicca. So its a bit of a circular question for me.

Wicca has given me things. Not material things. Not through spells or incantations. But friendships with those who are kin to me. Who share my visions and who have different visions - but in Wicca that is all acceptable.

I find it a very reassuring religions/practice. I was raised Methodist, and to me it was more about negativity that hope and positivity. I kept on going to church and feeling guilty for being human. I discovered Wicca and the other pagan religions when I was about 15 and the more I read about the various pagan religions, the better I feel. Wicca understands that we are all human and that we will all make mistakes, it's how we learn. Instead of blaming us and cursing us to eternal hell fire, it just reminds us that what we send out will come back. If we do good, good will come back, if we do bad, bad will come back to us. It also connect me more to nature that any religion that I've heard of, and show greater respect to nature and how to live in Harmony, something all human beings could use a reminder of.

Hi....for me....the feeling you get from connecting with the Gods is amazing, can't discribe it.
As for the everyday kinda stuff....
being Wicca influences everything, from the way I raise children, look at politcs, world events, treat relationships and even my employment. Following the path has made me a better person in all these areas, more mindful of others, more compassionate, more respectful but I am still working on being more patient.LOL

With Wicca, I find a religion with a mix of personal theory and science. We are encouraged to express our ideas about the world around us and our spirituality.

Basically, Wicca is about the realization that energy is in everything and that we are connected to the universe through those streams of energy. Furthermore,. that energy can be catergorized by its attributes such as polarity, direction, etc.

Feel free to contact me if you would like to continue dialog on the subject or if I can be assistance with any more questions.

To learn more about what Wicca is about. I will recommend some good websites and videos to watch.

To be Wiccan, or just a love of nature and magick, it gives a person peace and contentment. Spells, chants, use of magick to answer everyday questions, and the ability to give your problems over to a higher power is the most amazing feeling!

You have to have a true sense of your own well-being and self worth to truly be Wiccan or to even practice magick. You can't get it all by books and research. Find a coven or even groups online to get a true sense of what it is like.

I wish you the best and hope that you find what you are looking for. Blessed Be!

I'm a male Isian Witch. Which is pretty close to Wicca in most respects.

I have a great relationship with the divine. I grew up plagued with self doubt and loathing. It was on the Pagan path that I finally knew and felt that I was worthwhile and that I was loved. The Goddess and Gods communicate with me regularly and I know their presents in just about every activity I do.

I have seen how the energy I send out comes back to me. I've learned to make my world a brighter place. I've learned how to help others with out draining myself.

I am at peace and find joy and magick in everyday life.

Blessed Be,
Pabs

I don't understand your question too good. I tell you what you want to hear, how it makes your life better. It seems like you answered your own question? Wicca is like any other religion what you make of it. As in any other case religion can be dangerous and a practitioner especially in Wiccan rites has a lot of responsibility.I have heard tales of woe and pain. But as an Anglo it is always nice to get back to your roots. I like the communing with the elements and respecting nature part, but the candle spells and blood rites seemed a bit tricky for me. However a religion where you get to run around naked ain't half bad in my book.
