Is there a animal selter or some place I can give my puppy away because I really love my pup however my grandma isn't cool with me having it in the house and stuff. And she's still a small puppy so I rather have her stay in the house than outdoors because she so young. I asked all my friends if they want her, but they all said no because they all already have a dog. I don't know what to do!

Call a local shelter. They will usually take puppies. Make sure the shelter screens the adopters!!!!!!!!!!!

Put an ad in the paper.
Ask everyone who calls the following questions:Name, address and ph.number
Why do they want the dog? What do they plan to do with it?{Activities}Do they own their home or do they rent?People who rent move and more often than not cannot take the dog.How many people are in the home? Will the dog be left alone for long each day?Is there a yard for it to play?If not then is there a park near-by?
Explain that you're screening all replies to your ad because you want the dog placed where you know it will be happiest. And lastly ask where the dog will be kept while the people are away. And most importantly:ASK FOR THEIR VETS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER.Call vet and ask if they know this person? What is the condition of the animals they've brought in?Do they come in regularly for heartwormer and flea drops? If vet does'nt know the person or tells you bad stuff cross them off.If they've never owned a dog before and don't have a vet ask for references.Names and phone numbers of friends or family members who can tell you how they've treated other animals owned in the past or how they treat other peoples pets.
Never tell anyone where the dog is and don't offer to let them see the dog until you've driven by their house and checked it out.If there's 20 kennels out back full of pit-bulls cross the people off the list! And don't be shy about asking to see where the dog will be kept if they 're chosen to take it.
If the place looks well kept and there's no dogs chained in the yard then call back and have the people come meet the dog.But not at your home especially if this is a purebred animal.Tell them it's just a meet and greet and they can't take the dog at this time as someone else is very interested in the dog and may be coming for it that evening but you're still checking people out in case that falls thru. Also explain to them that you want to see whether the dog likes them or not so you want all family members there. If they show up with several kids and the dog shies away from them you don't want it to be in an uncomfortable situation so cross them off as well.
Pick the person who the dog seems to take to quickly.Have that person play with the dog for awhile and take it home after giving them your address and setting a time for the dog to be picked up.Not only does this give you a chance to say good-bye but the dog will be a little more comfortable and less adfraid of someone just grabbing it up and taking off with it and will be less likely to freak out.

If it is a specific breed go to yahoo groups and see if there is a rescue near you. If you need to give it away tonight then take it back where you got it from. If that is still not an option and can wait till morning call the local veterinarians and ask them and they can advise you of rescue groups in the area. Those are the best ways to handle it. Also if your local radio station has a "Swap Shop" or something like that you can call it in. the truth is it is your responsibility to find the best home for this puppy if you can't keep it.

Hopefully you will learn that in the future you need to consider the other people in the house before selecting a pet.

BTW - I rescue pets and am a professional dog groomer so my advice comes form years of experience.

Please don't give your puppy away for "free." There are many adoption shelters who will find a home for you dog. If you advertise to give away a free puppy you will never know if he will be in safe hands. Besides many cults who may use your puppy for a sacrifice there are also many laboratories who will use animals for experiments. If you charge at least $50 you are more likely to get people who will give it a good home. Also make sure you get the address (from a driver's license) and phone number so they'll know you mean business about finding your puppy a safe and loving home.

Since this is a little puppy, I am sure there are many people who would want to adopt it. Take the pup to an animal shelter, pref. the ASPCA tell them why you are giving him up and if possible could they give the new owners your number so you can still keep in touch for the first weeks.

Google Cameroon puppy scam, this has been round for greater than 5 years, there are no doggies to begin with, members can not import any animals from Africa for the reason that they've different ailments there that don't seem to be observed in North American. You need to be a licensed animal importer and the animals have to be saved in quarantine for your country for up to 6 months, at your expense. They aren't quarantined in Africa. Also puppies would certainly not continue to exist being shipped from Cameroon, a go back and forth that would take greater than 24 hours. They would die in transit

I understand PAWS is a no-kill shelter... I got my pup from a flyer posted in the post office. But the prior owner didn't check us out very much, our pup just got lucky. If she's still small a shelter will have no trouble getting her a good home, its the big ones who run the risk of being euthanized.

I would reccommend taking the dog to a NO-KILL animal shelter.
