Singtel now have webcam which you can install at home. and you can dial using your mobile phone to view whatever is going on in your house..
but you must also let you maid know that you install the camera, to show that she's being watch and may not dare fo full around when you're not at home..
Please do not do it discreetly, as it may create a different perception..

I am a cleaner, and if you are worried. Ask to see references at least 5, and check them. Also ask to see a c-pic (criminal record check) of the worker that will be in your house, ask about insurance and everything. PLaces that don't have insurance are usual high risk for some reason or another, and Like the one girl said, I have seen it all too. also ask the company how much they pay the girls, if you are getting someone making minium wage be leary, as these women or men can't be happy with that, if they are making above minium wage, by a couple of dollars, you have a happy worker more and likely. Another question is ask how long the person coming to your house has worked for them, you can also ask for a senior cleaner someone who has been with the company a while, as then you know she was worth keeping for them for a reason.

Well if you had done a proper backround check and have no questions regarding her integrity when you first hired her, then you wouldn't be asking. If you don't trust her, I suggest you try to find someone else from a reputable agency. They often insure their employees. If that is not feesible, then I would set up cameras, or just not have the maid come until someone is home.

Check her back ground. I had a house cleaning business for years and insisted potential new clients give at least three of my existing clients a call. I always liked having the home owners out of the house just because it made my job easier but I wanted them to feel comfortable about it.

I clean houses and would never steal, people that clean house have already seen everything and are not curious about your stuff. Check references, if the person has been working awhile she will have a reputation. I have always been trusted and have not broken that trust. Leave candy or cashews out and i might snitch a few haha

If you did your research prior to hiring someone to clean your home, and if treat your employees well, then that may help make sure nothing happens while you are out of the house.
Or you can arrange for the maid to be there when you are there.

NO!!!! I am a single mom, and the only times I had a maid in my home (and very rarely, I can assure you) was when I was there too. It is too dangerous to have someone alone in your home anymore.

If you have to ask that question, maybe you did not do your homework before you hired her. If you have doubts, hire a different maid. The point is to make your life easier, not more complicated.
