In class, my teacher gave us a riddle and it's been over a week and no one has figured it out...the riddle goes

"Rope Snaps, Bell Rings, Man Dies"

we know that the events happen in that order, we know that the man is surrounded by water, but he does not drown, the rope is attached to the bell, but the bell is not suspended by the rope, and we know that the man was at one point ringing the bell. i don't understand it and it really is bugging me, a little help please, 10 points to whoever makes the most sense!

the man has been hanging onto an ocean bouy and ringing the bell to attract attention, unfortunately the rope snaps that has anchored the bouy causing the bell to ring from the unstableness of the bouy ....... the sharks eat the man because they are atrracted to the motion of the bouy as well as the bell ringing

if someome is using the rope from a bell tower to scale the side of a building it would make sense to me. when the rope snaps the weight is released from the bell allowing it to swing to the opposite way (allowing the bell to ring) and the guy plummets.

if the tower is high enough over water he perishes from his injuried before drowning.

A man takes his blind friend swimming. The seeing man stands on the shore with a handbell to ring so that the blind man can find his way back to shore if he starts getting too far out. There is a buoy with a bell on it floating out far from shore. The blind man hears the buoy's bell and thinks it's his friend's bell so he follows the sound- further out in the water. The friend on shore sees what is happening and begins shouting and ringing his bell furiously. The blind man becomes exhausted out near the buoy and drowns.

A bell rings (the bell of the seeing man)
a man cries (the seeing man cries as in shouting out, not sadness crying)
A bell rings (the bell on the buoy)
a man dies (the blind swimmer)

Every day a blind person(gender dont matter) walks on a cliff, when she hears a bouy out at see she turns back. one day the rope that anchors the bouy breaks so it floats out to sea. So our blind person walks, and walks off the cliff, on the way down she hears the bell ringing, then she dies.

He could have been hanging himself by standing on a block of ice, hence the water. The bell could have rang when he was choking to death when the ice melted. Either that or he was on a boat.
