I know most wines in bottles get better with age, but is it the same with boxed wines? Can you store a box of wine for years and it will stay good?

Actually, most wines do not get better with age. Only certain types and they are aged in a barrel rather than the bottle. Once it is transferred to the bottle it is meant to be consumed right away. Once air gets to it, it begins to break down and tastes pretty much like vinegar.
SO to answer your question, neither is meant to be kept a long time.

Typically, the quality of wine in a box is on the low end. However, due to the nature of the bag within the box, it prohibits air/oxygen from affecting the wind. This prevents it from becoming contaminated and possibly becoming vinegar. However, when served, wine, particularly reds, needs to breathe. Breathing releases the flavors and aromas and makes for a better drink. The best way to serve a box wine would be to decant it a few hours to a day before being serving to allow it to breathe. The remainder in the box will last longer than a re-corked bottle as the bag never let any air in to begin with.

In all reality..boxed wine is very very good. It needs aeration. The best way to acheive this is by pouring the wine into a large beaker. Storing this in the fridge for 24 hours allows the wine to breathe and lets the boxed wine naturally cure and rather not be in the bag inside the box. Most of the time boxed wine will taste better this way than most of your more expensive wines.

Boxed wines, in general, are not one you'd want to age. They're the cheaper ones you buy and serve at a party right away. Oxygen passes through the plastic bag, oxidating the wine.

Expensive wines get better with age. Boxed wines are not top quality and only get worse with age. Drink Up!

No, boxed wine is similar to processed cheese slices, fake tan goop, Dodge Neons, and barb wire tattoos; they all last for awhile, but certainly don't improve with age.The bag inside makes for a hell of a pillow once it's empty.

There is an upper limit of time (about three to five years for whites) but it should last for a while
