ok, this one really works but it's hard to explain, lol..............

get a drink or water in your hands.......
bend over and put your lips on the top part of the glass.........
then bend a little more and drink the water so that you are drinking the water upside down, lol.

hope you understand and i hope it works, but if it doesn't i have another one.............

take a big deep breath and hold it, then take a big gulp of water.

Once started, you'll usually hiccup 63 times or more.
Drinking water, if done soon enough, might wash down a chunk of food in the throat that's pressing against a nerve.
sudden fright works almost immediately. If not then try this method which is known to cure up to 95% by holding your breath, pinching your nose closed while slowly taking 15-20 swallows of water When you can't stand it any more....you'll know by that overwhelming drowning sensation-take a deep breath and relax.
If these fail, a doctor could prescribe the drug chlorpromazine, , or use hypnosis or even acupuncture.
You could use extreme measures. In 1833, it was recommended that you blister or burn the skin above the phrenic nerve on the neck and back!!

Suck on a hard piece of candy, like Life Savers, Jolly Rancher, or the Creme Savers. The sugar will relax the diaphram, allowing the air trapped underneath to release either into a burp or fart. A spoonful of sugar works but it's VERY sweet & hard to swallow, even with water or another drink. I carry some kind of hard candy in my purse & keep some in a candy dish around the house.

Assuming that you are *not* a diabetic--here is my grandma's recipe. It has never failed. Take 1 teaspoon of sugar. Just eat it from the spoon like candy. If the hiccups haven't stopped in 5 minutes, take one more spoonful of sugar. Don't take any more than that, but this has always worked within 15-20 minutes for our family and friends.

My great-aunt Opal used to take our hands in hers, make us close our eyes, and then she would talk to us in a very soothing voice, telling us to give her our hiccups, and after a couple of seconds they would be gone! It worked every time! She was the best!
But since she is not arround, you can try taking a big swig of dill pickle juice! or eating a spoon full of sugar, or sucking the juice out of a slice of lemon. They all work.

You may have gotten rid of them by now, but if not, I usually shake them by getting a very large glass of water, and chugging it. Drink as much as you possibly can without stopping, for a while.

You do get a bit full, but it usually kills the hiccups.

Hello WonderWoman !

This one really works for me...

Get a regular glass of water and while standing up drink all of it from the opposite side of the glass... the explain further, your chin would almost be in the actual glass and you have to bend right over from the waist - to drink the water.

I dont why this works, but it works for me :-)

My great-grandmother always said to eat a full spoon of sugar - just swallow it down. She always swore that would work.

Fortunately, holding my breath always works for me.

My kids LOVE the sugar thing, though. I swear the younger one fakes hiccups sometimes just for the cure!

Good luck!

Straighten your posture, keeping your head level or slightly raised. Take several deep, slow breaths, both on the inhale and exhale. By doing this, you correct the spasm of your diaphram.

Here is a great one...place a spoon across your mouth (open). Drink a glass a water while the spoon is in your mouth. Hiccups are gone!
