Why do people seem to try so hard to prove the Bible and Christians wrong but not other religions?

Why do people keep ripping on the Bible and not other religions or evolution, trying to prove them wrong? Why can't they just leave the Bible alone?

Well, atheists think that anyone who believes in God is wrong. That would include Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and some many other faiths that believe in a god. In American culture there, it seems that Christians catch all the flak because Christians are the most dominant faith in America.

Christians claim that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, and if there is another arbiter of ultimate truth, (say science or the Koran for instance) then there is a conflict. Either the Bible is true or another source is true. I qualify truth with ultimate because it is possible for science to coexist with the Bible. For Christians though, it the Bible, not science, is the final authority, so when science says one thing and the Bible says another, Christians opt for the Bible.

There is an entire branch of philosophy dedicated to the study of what can and cannot be used as truth, and what the best sources of truth are called epistimology. Such a debate would fall under that category.

Because most of the people who run our government want that book right up there for us to believe in so we don't question what is really going on in the world.
What book from any other religion do you know that promotes such violence and hatred?
Since you seem to be so stuck on the Bible then let me ask another question,
Do you even know what the other religions stand for, pray for, teach, or promote?
I'm guessing the answer is NO. If you pulled that book out of your face long enough to research or read other books about other religions then you might have the answer to your own question.
Why can't you just leave it (the Bible) alone?

They don't spend their time on other religions because Christianity is the only truth they have to actually make a decision for or against it. All other religions say that there is no hell and that all paths lead to God. But it is only Christianity that says, this is the one way, the only path to God. They can't leave the Bible alone because they 1. dont understand it. 2. haven't read it. 3. Already have a opinion that God doesn't exist and therefore, nothing that I do matters. But Christianity is the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness knows it not. Men love darkness, becuase their ways are evil. And that's why attacking the only thing that has any relevance in life today, God, his Word and the Bible is attacked.

Christians have been trying to prove Evolution wrong since it was first discovered.

They have NOT succeeded. I refer you to the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial, if you don't believe me. Intelligent design is the latest manifestation of the religious trying to prove Evolution wrong. It failed miserably.

And, the reason why christianity is being bashed so often is that it is the prevalent religion in America. After it is crushed, the next largest will be the target. Anything that so callously subjugates humanity as religion should be abolished.

This happens to all religions, you probably are just sensitive about what people say about christianity because you are Christian. I'm a Muslim and feel like you! People need to leave their personal opinions and rude comments to themselves and state the facts. In order for us to understand eachothers religions we must gain true knowledge , that's the first key to acceptance.

For every action is an equal and opposite reaction and if you look at the history of christians and their solid record of aggresive prostylization you'll see where the initial force came from to create an anti-force to push back. Why don't they attack other religions? Because other religions are alot more apt to leave them alone and not try and manipulate them any way possible to conform to their idealogy.

Seems to me like there are a lot of people here (mostly Christians) who attack the Qur'an and Muslims, too. I think it's a matter of people feeling threatened/intimidated/uncomfortable. In the case of Islam, some folks think all Muslims are terrorists and that makes it ok (in their eyes) to attach Muslims. In the case of Christianity, I think it is more of a backlash from people who were raised Christian and turned away from it for one reason or another or people who have been told too many times they are going to hell.

Idon,t try to prove anybody wrong. I don,t believe in any god. If I went around trying to prove people wrong, I would probably end up in alot of fights. People tend to get disgruntled when you question their beliefs. Especially when it comes to religion, or lack of. Why should I go out of my way to piss people off?

The Bible is religion-by-royal-command, and royal-command is always met with rebellion.

The other religions are either wisdom of the ages or rebellion against other religions. Evolution is proven right by science.
