Do you have anything with intense magnetic pull very near you television? Like speakers? Magnets can change our screens.

Most probable cause for such effect is the interference from an external magnetic field. This can happen when you relocate or reorient the television (due to change in earth's magnetic field in new location). Another common cause is the placement of unshielded speakers near the television.

In first case switching off the television for few hours and switching it on back will resolve the problem. But if it is an external magnetic source, you need to keep them away from the television before it causes a permanent damage.

Alternatively it is possible that a magnet has already affected permanently and you have already put the magnetic source away from the television. I have heard there are service techies who can reduce such permanent damage by using other magnets for a short time. But I am not sure.

Assuming that no one has been inside the set and had a bit of a tweak here and there particularly around the set of rings that are on the tube neck. No ? . Ok then just asking ! the most likely cause is the set has been shifted or had large magnetic field near it ! There are 2 ways to tackle the problem , first you can send for a TV service person to call and de-gauss the screen for you , this consists of holding a coil of wire ( degauss wand ) near the screen and slowly taking it away before switching it off, ( the wand is mains operated ) , that method always works and is very impressive but if you arn`t in to paying bills for repairs then if you switch the tv set off every night at the wall socket then in the fullness of time the fault will cure itself , courtesy of the Tvs built in de-gauss coils that operate every time the set is switched on from COLD . Note , the sets de-gauss coils are not as strong as the one the TV tech can bring to bear !! Good luck to you !!!

anybody is responsive to that IPL is a center of experience fixing and corruption. So there should not be any marvel with the help of recent spot fixing scandal and Sreesanth or 2 different cricketers at the instant are not remoted case. what's going to you assert some massive no ball with the help of RP Singh or 3 catches dropped with the help of Pollord in a row. Why, even in the day previous's experience between Rajasthan and Hyderabad, gamers of Rajasthan did no longer decide for run out allure in a clean run out. IPL is all approximately vulgar funds. We objective audience have our each and daily restoration of cricket-leisure. no longer in basic terms there is spot fixing yet additionally suits are scripted and that's pre desperate which communities are going to play off around and which team is going to win the trophy.

If its an old tv that makes use of ctr's then it could just be static/magnetic effects that the tv has endured over the course of time.

I think when I had this problem a long time ago, someone told me that the tripler was failing - have no idea what it does, though. Maybe the picture tube is failing.

The TV may be going out or you could have something magnetic close to it.
