What preparations are you atheists making for spending eternity in HELL?

Just curious. Where I live, we're getting ready for a hurricane- batteries, water, etc.

What are you doing to get ready for Hell?

Well, I've got a great hotel room with a view of the beach and a hot tub...I've got some sweet sightseeing tours booked; you know Dante's inferno room, the 9 planes, that kinda thing. I'm having some problems getting my airline booked, but no worries...

How about you? I can't believe that Hell would pass up an oportuninty to book someone so self-rightous and judgemental. Pack your stuff!

I am not of any particular faith, and most would believe that what beliefs or values I have are pagan. But I firmly believe, that no matter what God you choose to worship, that others will not go to "Hell" because they are not devout in that particular faith. In the life that we are currently living, it's most important be a decent, kind human being. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Don't lie, even if it hurts another to know the truth. Don't steal. And help those around you when they are in need. This is how I am. I personally don't belive any particular religion is right. But even if one happens to be, I belive, acting the way I decribed before, I would be welcomed in Heaven.

Honestly, I find your question insensitive and ignorant. My suggestion is to work on trying to be a better human and respect others and their beliefs. Even if you don't like or care for their beliefs. They still deserve respect. Unfortunately your question alone will make most people who read it lose any possible respect you might have had.

Well bebe there's a 50/50 chance that when you die, you will just die and there won't be a hell or heaven for you to hitch a ride to.
You know when you have that HAUGHTY attitude your God doesn't like it very much.
Or don't you read your Bible very often?
What did He say about Pride?

Maybe you should try some asbestos underwear, cause He may have a surprise for which door you are going to take when you get to where you think you're going.

What are you doing to get ready for the blizzard? What, you don't believe a blizzard is coming? I read in a book (or maybe it was a movie) that Florida will be hit by a blizzard. Everyone should run out and buy firewood and blankets.

OMG...reading this has changed my mind completely! Before I read this insightful question, I was a questioning agnostic, but I have seen the error of my ways.
I think I'll get ready, just in case tho, the same way you are...with a supply of batteries and water.

Makes me sense uncomfortable, considering that would make you already in Hell, and then down a notch. wish you're taking something to cheer you up quickly, because of the fact if that grew to become into my concept of Hell i might have a shotgun in my mouth genuine now.

even though i'm an atheist i'm not certain that i'll be going to hell, so i'm trying to take a few precautions just to make sure i end up there.

first i'm going to find a city full of sinners and completely destroy it, as well as any righteous people that happen to see me as i do so. next i'm going to flood the entire earth and kill every man, woman and child except for one family of my choosing that will have the task of gathering 2 of every animal and repopulating the planet. then, to top it all off, i plan on having a son that i'll be giving to a bunch of sadistic bastards who will proceed to torcher him mercilessly until he's finally put to death. i don't want to jinx this but i really hope they crucify him.

anyway, those steps should result in my eternal damnation...

But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. Hon, sending the world the message that our God is angry and vengeful, trying to find reasons to throw them into hell is a misrepresentation of His character. Scare tactics will never turn their hearts. Only loving them for who and where they are will ever turn a heart. You send hate messages to them, and even if that isn't your motivation, that's certainly your message. Sure, we have a charge to spread the Good News, but your news doesn't sound very Good. That doesn't mean we have to turn a blind eye to sin, or that we coddle them and say there are no standards, BUT, if people know you love them, you won't ever have to tell them that you disagree with their decisions. Try a message that sounds more like Jesus and less like the accuser. Jesus never went around telling people they were going to burn in hell. He lived with sinners, ate with them, and through his speaking GOOD NEWS about the Kingdom, about love, about grace, about forgiveness, their hearts were turned. Don't forget who the accuser is! Choose who you want to follow.

Well, I hope that hurricane doesn't hit you, and if it does, that the atheist cops, firefighters, EMTs, soldiers, electricians, etc. who will help you and yours out are much more compassionate to you than you would be to them.
