All parents worry, especially if they see their kids making bad choices. Maybe your parents are trying to give you the advantage of their life experiences. You have not been in their position, but they have been in yours. My oldest son is going through some stuff he wouldn't have had to face if he had been willing to listen to us. What has happened is exactly what we warned him would happen if he kept doing what he was doing. I still hope he will end up a good person, but he's going to have to get his act together and his life will be affected by his stupid choices for a long time to come. He is not a bad person, but he is a lot more young and foolish that he has been willing to recognize. He kept saying we didn't understand, but we did. We just knew better. Your parents love you and want what is best for you. Maybe you don't always like the way they express this, but you have to trust that they, more than anyone else, have your back.

I think it's a really good sign that you care what your parents think, even though they make you mad sometimes. Also, you yourself don't believe that you'll be a bad person. So, you get frustrated when they say you're going to grow up and be bad (thus the sigh).
Of course a person can make mistakes, or bad choices when they are young and still turn out to be good when they're grown up. I know quite a few people for whom this is true. (Just make sure the bad choices aren't felonies, and you should be OK.)
When I was a teen, my friend's mom was constantly ragging on her daughter. Her mother was abusive too. Well, the daughter did turn out to be a good person, though it was in spite of her mom, not because of her.
Do you do things that make yourself proud? Do you have any hobbies or talents? Do you play a sport? Doing something for yourself may help you learn more about the type of person you are becoming. Take care.

I know for sure my parents never thought I'd be
a bad person. They always wanted me to be the
best I could be. Supported me on so many of the
interested I liked while I grow up. Communication
and having a openness to give and take is going
to assist you in the long run. I turned out way better
than they could have hoped. Love and understanding
are solid foundations to build on your parents are
always on your side.

well maybe they say so , so u will try to B better , well i knw this a wrong way , but if u want my advice ignore them , n be urself but as a good person , see urself clearly , ask why why do they say so , they absolutely do it for something , see this issue , solve , n be a good person , look at ur vices try to treat it n have more virtues , all parents wants their son to be the best that's why they do so n that doesnt mean that i agree with them they had to talk to u , advice u but not that way , but look at ur mistakes n solve it , look at ur future n promise urself that u will be a good person .
also plz , find a guide i mean it an uncle a teacher someone u trust , tell him ur secrets , n let him give u his experience but in the right way ok , do it .
also u have to knw that after all ur parents love u so love them , b good to them , n follow their advices if they r right or at least the advices of the one u trust ok.

I hope when my son's gets to be a teen I don't put that kind of strain on them. I am open to talk to them and not bring them down but to raise them up. Your parents are making there self look bad they raised you!!! You didn't raise yourself did you?
Parents these days need to be open I think with there kids and stop the neg- stuff.

I had many older brothers and sisters. By the time I came along, there wasn't much I could do wrong that hadn't already been done, and my mother wouldn't believe me even when I told her the truth. She was just glad I wasn't dead or in jail, I think. I'm pretty much like that with my kids. As long as they learn from their mistakes, they don't worry me too much.

you will do the same when you are a parent, they care about you and hope you grow up to be a good person you probably will not understand this untill you have kids.

No, they worried about my not getting a full and proper education so I could take my reading, writing and arithmetic skills to secure a good paying job.

for 2 years yes, b/c it prob was going to be true, but i changed, and i'm happy...i'm not trying to lecture, cuz i TOTALLY understand you!!!!! =( but just listen, nod, and pretend to listen, until it hurts your ears, and shut them up by changing, and you'll get a kick out of it too...but if your not into it, then change...but just give it a chance, and then they'll accept it that at least you tried...
