I am flying to the middle east 28 september and stopping in bangkok for a night. I catch my flgiht to Dubai the next day at 11.00am which gives me less than 24hrs in bangkok. Any suggestions where I can do some shopping or have a good time? Meet any ladies for drink or where I can go and see some night life?

It depends when you will be able to get to your Hotel after your arrival..Yet i would not suggest shopping. Try to get some lovely Thai handicraft sold on the road side. Patpong is a suggested area but be careful...very careful..Politely refuse offers for "Shows". If u need to see one of the "shows" just walk in yourself and pay THB500, it is not more than that with a free drink. Do not encourage bargirls talking to you unless you are willing to throw some money. They solicit but do not bother you when you politely refuse. They dont cheat in Thailand. Its you who gets deceived because you dont ask the required questions. If you want to pick up a girl for some fun.you get them from THB300 to THb1000 from 1hour to 12 hours. Hotel Grace area in Sukhumvit is a good spot to find them...U get ladyboys too..Play safe all the time lest you should catch the unwanted bug. Try a good massage. Available at most hotels..if you want the massage with sex you may have to shell out THB1500 minimum.. Bargaining is always possible. Check about a massage in the Hotel you are going to stay. Have a good time in Bangkok.. A lovely city..Easy to go around and very good people..(note: Communication in english may be a proble in some places..Try to speak slowly and allow them to understand..Use the calculator when u bargain on prices..punch the price on the calculator..itsa common practice)

You may have time for the night bazaar in Suan Lum. This place is open from evening till about 11pm. Other night markets along Sukhumvit Road and Silom Road may be useful to pass some time. If there is time, head to MahBoon Khrong Centre for shopping. Nearby are plenty of small shops in Siam Square too. Or other shopping centres just across the street like Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery, for more up-market products.
Most shops open from 10am, so there is not likely to have much time for you the next day.
You can find plenty of pubs and bars along Sukhumvit Road. These are usually along the side roads along the main street. Or to Patpong at Silom as most of the guys here seems to know so well.
If you like a dinner and a Tiffany Show, head to Asia Hotel for one to pass the time. And a Thai massage will always be a welcome break.

Stay at the Malaysia Hotel for $12-14 dollars a night and no problems bringing guests in. It's clean, safe, good location and 24 hour front desk and coffee shop. It has a nice pool too.Go to the Silom Road night Market--you can walk from Malaysia...For the "Night life" any street off of Silom north like 2nd, 4th--you will find anything you can imagine and more. much more. One night will not be enough time to see BKK. You need at least a week to 10 days--and then you'll be planning your next trip back.

patpong? well, it's not really a good place to recommend, but since you want to do shopping and meet many ladies at the same time Patpong is the best answer. it's kinda a seductive place in bangkok tho. check this out for more info about Patpong area http://www.excelloz.com/Travel_guide/Bangkok/Patpong.html

Head to the Silom road night market, tour the market then slip into Patpong for a look around, if you dont see anything you like hop into a cab (not a tuk tuk) and head over to Nana plaza or Soi Cowboy.

You can go to Nana for night life and shop or you can also go Suanlum night bazaar market they have a live band outside. Or you can shop at the airport and get a Thai massage w/ happy ending at the 2nd floor. good luck

I understand that Bangkok is full of sleazy opportunities. Don't take anything away from there that you don't want, like an STD.
