I am intrested in enlisting in the military, but I have one problem... My ASVAB scores...I have taken it twice...first score was an 33 second time it was an embarrassing 22, and I was just wondering if this third time would be my last chance to take it? Also I really don't get it, I am starting to think im a dumbass, even though I had good grades in school... If you could include tips on what to do it would help...

Thanks

I used to tutor guys for the ASVAB, and I can't understand how you could be scoring so low. I had guys who were functionally illiterate (like a fourth grade reading level) scoring in the teens or 20's, and I'd tutor them for a week or two to get them up to the 40s. Especially since your score went down, that shouldn't happen, you should do better once you know the format. Talk to your recruiter about this issue, and get a study guide from a bookstore, they work.

There is no limit to the amount of time you can take the ASVAB. The limit is on the patience of the recruiter.

Get a study guide, and focus on math and english. Those are the two that will increase your ASVAB score. Everything else is just to determine if you have the "ability" to learn jobs in those fields (electronics, mechanics, etc). Ensure that you get a good nights sleep the night before the test.

Good luck

I got 98 AFQT whacked out on pain killers. I had a friend who was the mental equivilant of 12 score higher than 33. If you're getting good grades in school, your school is failing you.

"an embarrassing 22"???????? 33 is just as embarrassing!

TIPS: Get a GOOD nights sleep before the test, and stop stressing! :)
