Favourite artist and painting always changes.
Right now I am into Claude Monet, but in the past Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, and Tamara de Lempicka have all held first place.
My current favourite painting is 'Water Lilies' by Monet.

I am, and I don't mean that egotistically. But I have to believe I am the world's best painter ...my favorite...because when I paint, if I believe less, I put up an obstacle that prevents me from doing my finest. And while in reality I know that my work is far from the world's (or this neighborhood's) best, I need the belief for the duration of a session so I can get past the challenges and mistakes that come after the first stroke. And while there are many other artists to admire, I have to be the favorite else depression makes it impossible to move to the a higher level. And I try to avoid really liking my own work because, that just sets a permanent barrier to achieving even better. An instructor once advised, "Paint the damn thing, sign and date it, then throw it away."
The name of my favorite painting is, "The next one will be your best"

My favorite is "Gerak Roda Dehidupan" by the artist Made Suarimbawa "Dalbo". I met him in Bali before. He is an emerging Balinese artists. There is something fascinating with the colors that he uses for his paintings.

John Singer Sargent has long since passed away and not to come off being vain, my favorite living artist, naturally, is myself. I'm known for my portraits and I'm really good at what I do.

This is always a rough question for me because I can't seem to pick one! LOL! But my all time faves are Van Gogh, Picasso and Andy Warhol. I really like Warhol because he did several things besides painting, like making movies and photography. SD
