and everyone is saying that it would split her from her son.

why is that? she can take her son with her. so why is this splitting?
He does not have to stay in the US!
so you make your choice.

Its not just about taking her son with her. Think about it. This child was raised in the u.s., he speaks spanish, but he really knows nothing about living in mexico. Its a completely different society then us. He will not feel as accepted or at home there. And its not just about them. Think of all the families that are and would be split up because of deportation like this. Mothers, fathers, friends, children, losing their loved ones because some of them are not citizens. Can you imagine the impact on a family where one of the parents is not legal? What if that person is the main source of income? What will the family do trying to make up for the lost money? Sure they can find a job, but how long might that take them and will it earn as much as the lost family member/s did? Many people would end up on welfare, which is what alot of people complain about. And for the families who won't subject their children to moving to a new country, their kids may end up in foster care, or with relatives who will also most likely get welfare if not already. Splitting up families just doesn't seem right and forcing children and spouses to move to a different country is also wrong.

I believe that it was the mothers decision to have a child here in the United States of America, and should suffer the consequences of going back to her Country and taking her off spring with her. The child did not ask to be brought to this world and it must stay where the mother is. This mother would not want to teach her child things that are illegal.

Right on brother!

I agree with you, it's just so stupid that you have a kid here and boom they get instant citizenship..

I had a baby in New Zealand (his father is New Zealander) and my son is a Citizen, but I do not get an option to be one under the mother rule until he is 17! I think that is absolutly fair and it's in place so people can't do what illegals are doing to this country.

Precisely! She is perfectly entitled to bring her child with her ... and if she chooses not to, what does that tell you about her as a mother? She came here illegally, got deported, came back and had an anchor baby ... and now holes up in a church demanding rights and compares herself to Rosa Parks ... btw has anyone heard anything about the father of the boy??

It's a no-brainer isn't it. But the print media rush to the aid of illegals because it makes a tearjerking story and it may sell a lot of extra papers to Mexicans who cannot read or write English. The press would film her being dragged across the border and her kid screaming "mommy..." The fact that she is deserting her kid would not be mentioned. America is about gone folks.

Yes you are right. But what about the families they leave behind in their own country. Wife, children, mothers, and other people they love. So they come here and cry about the families that they are made to leave behind when they get deported. But what about the other family they left in their own Countries. Who care about them when they come here Illegally. If they can leave their family's in their own countries they sure as hell can leave their families here when they get deported.

She has twice entered the US illegally. (She was turned back at the Mexican border during her first attempt nine years ago, but managed to cross into the US several days later.) Arellano forfeited any right to legal challenges or benefits when she became a fugitive.
