It is because women, through their actions, have lost the right to be treated respectfully. I feel like tripping women whenever they walk past me. I also feel like throwing rocks at their cars like Palestinians do whenever Israeli buses pass by. I may even spit at them.

I'm sorry you feel that way but those are not the traits of a true gentleman. A true gentleman treat women with courtesy and respect wether they accept it or not. Even if it's holding a door open or holding out a chair while in a restaurant ,offering your seat while on a crowded bus,right down to being courteous enough to wait till the other person is finished speaking so you may answer in a clear and consise tone. Furthermore the best way to respect a woman is thru the use of deoderant,grooming,and not only brushing your teeth,but the use of breath mints as well. And if they still don't respond to this, THEN you trip them,lol.

Winner is right. There was once a time when a man would never hit a woman, but some women have ruined it for the whole gender. (If you've seen Boondock Saints you know what I mean.)

In our society (in the U.S.) where women are constantly trying to be more equal to men they are acting more masculine. When a woman becomes mildly insulted and assaults a man in his genital region, all her rights to not being struck are revoked.

In my mind, I have a simple motto I think every man should adopt.
"Act like a gentleman when you are amongst ladies."

"Ladies" being the key word.

Ok, kind off went of subject, but as far as chivalry, I don't think women want it anymore. I mean they want it, but they don't deserve it. When I meet a woman who's dressed like a slut, smoking and saying f-ck all the time, I feel my chivalry would be wasted if I expended it on her.

Than I guess I should be chivalrous towards men for my estranged husband being an *******. Dude, we all go through **** with the opposite sex no matter who we are. When you get the crap beaten out of you, or left to be a single parent, or married and cheated on then you can feel like that. There is a difference when dating then being married. Dating is a survival of the fit and both sexes put up a front to find their mate. Marriage ends the front and true colors are shown. So choose your game and play it.

If some women have done things that destroyed your respect for them (and I don't doubt this is true), that's no reason for a blanket condemnation of the female half of the human race. There are better ones out there. Good luck finding them.

I think alot (not all, just a large number) of both men and women are self-centered. I still try to be chivalorous to women. Some expect it anyway, whether they deserve it or not, some are surprised, and some seem grateful. I never think of tripping them or throwing rocks, regardless of how self-absorbed they are.

Note to chopperchopster: It's possible to be a little too obsessed with anything, including body-building.I doubt if anyone here really cares how big (or small) your biceps allegedly are. Lighten up dude. Seriously.

Men aren't chivalrous coz the ones who truly want to be nice coz they're nice inside are pushed down like they're losers and then that bolsters the guys who never wanted to be chivalrous in the first place.

Men aren't chivalrous anymore coz women are made to feel like they're stupid and weak females or bimboes or "after something" if they let men be so kind to them.

Above all men aren't chivalrous coz they don't want to be. If they did, they would be.

The problem is for years women screamed for equal treatment but still expect to be treated as ladies. It doesn't work that way. If you want to be treated as an equal you will, indeed, be treated as an equal. You are either put on a pedestal or looked on as competition in the workforce and will be squashed by people on their way to the top.

I agreed with your statement until the third sentence. I think women are their own worst enemy sometimes. They want their cake and eat it too. They want to be equal with men on all levels, but then they still want men to be chivalrous. Don't get me wrong, I think women should eb equal in that they should be paid equal for equal work and be treated equally in the workplace, not be passed over for promotions that are given to men, etc. Men and women are different, though and if you want to be completely equal, then you have to give up other things....like chivalry. As far as the sexual revolution goes, it's hard for someone to respect somone who doesn't value themselves enough to not sleep with everyone that ever date. I think that's women's problem....they want their cake and eat it too. They want to be in the military and be equal with men, but when it comes time to go to war, they start crying about being mothers and women and not wanting to go. You can't have it both ways ladies! And yes, I am a woman.
