I'm not asking this question to be mean to Christians or anyone else who believes in God. I am just curious as to you opinions on the subject.
People always quote the Bible on this subject, but I want to know what you really think.

The human form is the messenger and carrier of the spirit until we die. No, God is an unseen force and nobody knows what and how IT looks. We know ITS there.

Dear Melrae: When I was a little kid, my grandmother bought me a children's Bible. It depicted God as a man - rather like Michelangelo showed Him on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. In my book, He sat on a cloud. I don't know if Children's Bibles show that anymore.

Apparently, early man saw it that way. Or why would a genius like Michelangelo bother creating that type of picture?

I read Genesis when young and also believed it was all true. But, as an adult, I took a sudden and deep interest in the historic figure called, Jesus of Nazareth. Eventually, this led me to books that were non-denominational, based upon spiritual belief, rather than "religion."

I read that God was a Spirit-Mind in a body of essence that filled all space and dimension. That the "Kingdom" was His Creations in His own Likeness - also spirit-minds. It spoke of the design and structure of the "Kingdom" and why it was Perfection. And that the Children of God were as Eternal as the Father. It spoke, further, of each spirit-mind created being part of a One-mind channel, so that all holy sons of God communicate to each other and to the Father in full and direct communication at all times.

Since that time of initial study, I have been led to experiences that point to the truth of this. I was told that the Separation occurred, but not in a "Garden of Eden" due to a snake and an apple. That it took place in Eternity, through the One Mind. What occurred, was described in detail and how this physical world arose from a misperception the Children of God had during a communication with Him. It described how the One-Mind channel was never fully open again, as we sank into our thoughts and dreamed of a world in which we could be individual, unique and special. The Plan for our Return instituted by the Father was also discussed at length.

I have a deep relationship with Jesus and The Holy Spirit. And in personal communion with Them over many years, I have been instructed by Jesus that all these things are Truth. That the whole concept of the Crucifixion and Resurrection was to demonstrate our Reality. Eternal beings - spirit -mind that is beyond the body and operates within its dream thoughts of a body. We own a physical image, but are not OF it.

I believe the most important way we were created in his image is simple. I believe it is the fact that we can speak. Yes, other animals can communicate, but not like humans. We can speak, read, and write. Words are powerful, they can build up and tear down. At one time a persons spoken promise was everything. We have the ability to learn other languages. And to know sign language.

I believe that God is a spirit though he did take on human form a few thousand years ago. We too also have a spirit.

as quoted by the bible we were created thru god's image... think of it this way, just like when one looks in a water, think that you are the one looking in and the created image as god... now that doesn't mean god is in human form, right? looking at this scenario, he is plain water not necessarily in human form.

for such is the interpretation of some, in pure literary form. but it doesn't have to be that way. remember, a mirage in a desert doesn't mean it is there. a rainbow in the sky doesn't mean it reflects an actual image. same holds true... we are in reality, a solid form, and god as the refracted image of us... that is what it was really implied on that particular quote.

your child may be your splitting image, but that doesn't really mean he/she would be you in the future... in fact, he/she may resemble you, but that doesn't mean he/she can take your position nor your knowledge... a quote is nothing more than a message which one can interpret in several ways, depending on how it can be applied.

if god is in human form, then by george, does that mean the devil also is?

interior the Rubaiyyat of Omar Khayyam the eating mugs are discussing what it's going to be like as quickly as they start artwork interior the wide-spread public abode: mentioned one--"persons of a surly Tapster tell, And daub his Visage with the Smoke of Hell; They talk of a few strict finding out human beings--Pish! he's a robust Fellow, and 'twill all be properly." yet needless to say an all-powerful God might locate it trivially uncomplicated to fabricate a incorrect creature (what you will possibly call an evil individual). a effective potter can throw a solid pot. He could additionally throw a bad pot. in case you're able to do something properly, you additionally could make a multitude of it. Why might an all-powerful God create an evil creature? there are various motives. The all-powerful God may well be inherently evil, and committed to promulgating soreness and suffering. The God of the previous testomony burned all of the youngsters in Sodom, besides as their mothers. He might desire to have have been given some relaxing out of that. Or it would be that the convenience of having evil human beings outweighs their fee. the super American divine Jonathan Edwards reminds us that between the main acute pleasures of Heaven is looking down on the torments of the damned. might desire to you truly be chuffed approximately being saved in case you probably did no longer recognize that your father (who under no circumstances set foot in Church after he grew to become thirty) grew to become into burning in torment for all eternity? Jonathan Edwards might have discovered heaven completely spoiled for him without that convenience. or perchance God basically does not care. There are Christians who let us know that each abortion is incorrect, because of the fact each conceptus is a living human soul. if it truly is the case, God might desire to be truly sloppy to enable 2/3 of fertilised ova shed interior the 1st bleed after intercourse. So God can create evil human beings if he's a depraved God, or a scheming God, or maybe basically a bored God. and there is adequate info from any Scripture you are able to think of of that each actual God who has ever been worshiped is all 3 of those. God can probable think of of different motives for doing undesirable stuff. he's cleverer than i'm.

I believe it means we have or can develop God like qualities, such as compassion, justice, mercy and so on. God isn't an old man with a white beard flying around the Universe on a throne. God is the source of everything material and not someone we could see with our eyes.

Image and likness means the soul or spirit is created like God. It does not mean that God has hands and feet and a body with a head balanced on top.

to my understanding Jesus is the physical form of God and He does have a body and He bears the scars of the covenant. We will recieve new bodies its said. Nobody really understands what we are going to percieve when we do see God. We are created in Gods image as a threefold being ... Spirit, Mind, and Body.

We can plan and build and use tools and help our fellowman and take care of the animals. Because we have superior intelligence.
So we use it to make riffles to kill deer and other humans.
