I had a friend once tell me that he believed that we went through our lives collecting people and places, and that once we died they became our heaven. He meant that no matter what happens to us we have the people we love and would miss with us at all times. I believe that there are always people looking after us, so I don't see why that time should be any different.

Well there is no such thing as going to hell or heaven after you die, when you die the bible clearly says that you will have no coincience whats so ever, only if you are annointed you will go to heaven, so there is no such thing as people watching you over when they die, these things were made up way back by pagent christians and catholics and some other christian follow it but it is so against what they bible says.

But what if they are in hell? Do you think the FSM gives out day passes to let the unbelievers monitor events on earth?

No that is the realm of angels!
Now when you die sometimes it is allowed that someone you know (who has passed on) can come and help you over (as you die).

Of course they will if they are in heaven or purgatory. They will also pray for you too! The family of God is never, nor can ever be broken!
