First step would be to run a search for recent files (picture files). Likely, you simply downloaded the picture files to the wrong destination folder.
Second step, take a picture (doesn't matter what of) and download it the same way as before. When it lists the destination for the pictures, make note of it. Check that folder after the picture is downloaded.
In the future, make sure that you monitor the destination folder for the pictures, and uncheck the box which deletes the pictures from your memory stick. Use another utility to remove the pictures from the stick, but do so only after the pictures have been correctly copied to the computer.
If all this fails, follow help desk protocol 51: Pack your computer (in your case, the camera, too) into it's box, and send it to the manufacturer. You are too dim to own such technology.

[if you are using Windows XP] : Ok... You are not supposed to copy , Cut or try to paste pics from ur camera to the C: Drive. When you connect the Camera thru the usb cable to your pc, A pop-up should come up to ask you if You want to go thru a Microsoft Scanner And Camera Wizard, which downloads pics properly to ur hard drive from the camera. You are supposed to follow that procedure. If the pop-up does not come up, then you go to my Computer, click on Digital Camera.. & on the left side in the blue bar (under camera tasks)... it should have an option saying "Get pictures from camera" , which will take you to the Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Sounds like when you did the cut, they were "erased" from your camera' card. They are probably on you C drive somewhere. Open explorer and do a search for files with a .jpg extension.
Do NOT take more pics on that card. Even if they were erased, you can unerase them with special software if you dont overwrite them.

too bad...
what format were they in? Let's pretend that you had a bunch of .jpg photos.
Run a search and search for "*.jpg" (ignore the quotation marks). This will turn up all .jpg picture files (note they may be ".jpeg" instead of ".jpg", so you'll have to search "*.jpeg" as well). Look through them and see if you can't find your 200 pictures. (Also, before deleting anything, check the recycle bin)

Hey Dorkette,
Try copying next time instead of cut and paste. That way when you screw up again, you will still have the originals on your media
