What do you do when no matter how hard you try to have faith everything in your life is just going too wrong to even beleive...What do you do when things are in your life are stable and you try to get closer to God and all of a sudden things start going wrong so you tell yourself:
"SCREW IT! I'd rather be faithless than go through any more problems"

Anytime you get closer to God, satan will try to undermine you.
He will attack you so you will lose your faith.
Any time that happens, pray!

I like the Saint Michael prayer:

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Relax. What you are going through is common. It is part of spiritual growth. Just like natural birth and growth, we cannot remain babes in the heavenly realms either.

May I suggest you take some quality time to relax and search inside? The answer you seek is there. It is not at Yahoo. The pastor doesn't have it either.

Your mind and your soul or spirit are not the same things. If you are having difficulty, it is because your inner self or soul (the real you) is trying to get your attention. Turn off your mind a while. Slow down. God and the universe have obviously taken interest in you. But your path may not be along traditional routes. Creation saves the best for certain individuals.

Listen quietly to your inner self. Take a few minutes each day. Turn off the television and CD player. Be still and quiet. It is difficult at first, but try to think of nothing. Let your thoughts fade away. After a few day, you will begin to notice changes.

Don't try to be good. Don't try to please God. Don't try to have faith. Don't worry about a devil or satan. Just relax and watch what takes place in a few days. You will be delighted.

Regardless of what people tell you, life is not meant to be a struggle. Life should flow with effortless ease. Beauty, success, love, prosperity and much more will seek you, and embrace you, if you only learn how to romance them. My life has no struggle. It flows as I have described. I believe it is available to everyone.

Although it does not appear so, everything is as it should be.

While "TheMayne" is right (second answer), I know what you mean. But even with what he/she is saying, how can you then have faith in a god that does that kind of stuff?

I'm not a christian (or any other religion) so I may not be the type of person you want answering your question, but while I don't affiliate myself with any particular god, I still somewhat believe that one does exsist.

I'm going to write down a few lyrics from a song by Monty Python about the universe. It makes me realize how small we all actually are. I'm not sure if this will make you feel better or worse, but something that should almost always be considered.

Just remember that your standing, on a planet that's evolving,
revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned, a sun that is the source of all our power.

The sun, you and me, and all the stars that we can see, are travelling at a million miles a day...
In an outer spiral arm at 40,000 miles an hour, of the galaxy we call the Milky Way.

Our galaxy itself, contains 100 million stars. It's one hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick, but out by us it's just 3000 light years wide.

We're 16 thousand light years, from galactic central point, we go 'round every 200 million years,
And our galaxy is only just one of millions of billions, in this amazing and expanding universe.

The last line doesn't ryme but it's not the end of the song. Just what I could remember.

Cheer up, look to the sky.

hi there, las.
I am not a 'christian', but ahve learned over man, many lifetimes that the closer you get to your objective...the more obstacles appear!!! This does not mean god does not exist or that you should abandone your faith(s). In fact will strengthin it, oddly enough. Life is Amazing...Life is Hard...but guess what each life is inevitably better than the last...with a lil' extra karma...but thts what it's for...making things better. Don't worry my life is rough too, but I still believe in "something more" and know that I will always perservere. Besides being faithless can become its own problem, soon youll be an atheist who thinks they believe in " reality" but not seeing reality for what it is....infinite. Stick with the plan dear...there are no easy paths in life!!!!!!!!

Have you ever thought that what is happening is a test of your faith? This has happened to me and almost everybody . I would say that just when you think you have a handle on things someone changes the rules and you have to learn the new ones which may be the same old ones but in a harder form to hold on to?
You do not advance in wisdom and understanding by doing the same old things everyday that leads to boredom and a lack of trying also.

Whenever we expeirence a disappointment,we need to be refreshed and encouraged. As you trust in God more and more,Jesus will be more and more "at home" in your heart. When that happends, your disappointments won't seem like such a big deal because you know your not alone. Even more than God wants to remove your pain or uncomfortable circumstances,he wants to use them first to help you grow.

Instead of focusing on the negative circumstances on the outside, pray for God to strengthen you on the inside. He will! read 2Corinthians 4:16-18 for encouragement

Faith, as life, is a journey. God never promised a perfect life to anyone. God lets bad things happen, for higher purposes. The book of Job, is a good example.

God is not responsible for your problems or for solving them. The world just kinda sucks. It's imperfect. Shtuff happens. Get rid of the faith issues, it's all bogus. Get yourself set on a goal and work towards it to the exclusion of anything else. If setbacks come, remember always: "This too shall pass."

I have learned that when more STUFF is thrown your way then you think you can handle there is a BLESSING on the other side
of the tough stuff

satan will give all that can be done to brake you and GOD will allow you to go though tough stuff

Often on the other side when the tough stuff has been dealt with you can see why the tough things have happened

You just keep going. God never promised that this life would be easy. Many Missionaries in foreign countries can attest to that fact. Just remember to stay close to Christ. Read your Bible, Pray and go to Church. Sometimes trials while hard, will teach us something and we will grow because of it. Some day you may be able to counsel someone with the same problem you had. Being faithless you will have problems too!
