Well the Bible may not have a verse stating it's a sin, but it definitely states that sexual impurity and sexual addiction is a sin. And how is this sexual impurity? well it connects with the Ten Commandments, which states that even when a man is just lusting for another woman, he is commiting adultery. Now when your "wanking," thats what youre doing.
and what someone said about "its already paid for by Jesus Christ, the point of the crucifixion was not so you can go on sinning, is that since you love God, you want to do what pleases him. Just like if you love a wife or husband, you want to do what pleases him or her. In this case, God wants you to be pure in your thoughts and actions.

One word, LONELINESS! if you have experienced the despair of prolonged singleness something has to give! In the end cold showers are not enough! And the pain of being alone is extremely debilitating. The body is the temple of the holy spirit, and God wants us to be whole in every aspect, but until youve had some life experience and understand what loneliness can do to a man, I dont think you really understand? By the way, have you tried asking God for yourself?
