i am having a terrible cold, i was having slight fever and major headache the past two days, now the fever is gone, but i still have headache and cold sweating sometimes. and i have a stuffy nose"not so bad, but won't go away" I have taken so far, the Excedrin "extra strength", some cough medicine, and i just bought the Advil, Liqui-gels
I am wondering if that would help with the cold and the headache. because it says to relieve pain and headache due to "cold", does that mean that it will help me get through the headache due to cold as well as the cold? i feel so tired and dizzy, please help!

Assuming it's not a tumor or something, she should go down a list of her habits and make sure she's doing all of these things right: Get enough sleep. She should sleep in the correct position for her, and with the right pillow. Try right side, left side, etc. This can isolate headaches caused by this type of neck strain Eat the right foods. Try cutting out certain foods. Get enough exercise. Eat little or nothing after dinner. Balance work and fun. Watch your neck position while reading or on the computer. Keep caffeine intake low and evened-out (e.g. small cup of coffee in AM and one in PM -- no more, no less). Caffeine is either a vasodilator or vasoconsrictor depending on the type of blood vessels, and can cause or relieve headaches. Try taking a very cold shower until your teeth chatter and you can't stand it any more, then turn the water on warm. This will tense the muscles and then relax them. Or you could learn progressive relaxation for a similar effect. This is like the Scandanavians who jump in the snow and then into the sauna. Or jump into Lake Superior on a 90F day, and then warm up on the beach. If she can reduce physical and mental strains, she may be able to keep her body from rebelling in this way. If she doesn't get medical help I'm afraid there is no way I know of other than trial and error in the areas outlined above. Fortunately, I was able to reduce headaches to practically zero this way.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for the common cold. You just have to let it run its course. In the meantime, you can take whatever it is that would make it alittle more bearable....that will help you get through the headache due to cold. Drink lots of juices and green tea (antioxidants) and take a multi-vitamin. Try putting your head over the sink with the hot water running and let the steam go up to your nostrils. That would help open up and relieve the stuffiness..if not, just use Afrin nose spray. Hope you feel better.

Take a pain reliever, drink liquids, and eat some fresh soup (canned if not), drink more liquids, and drink more liquids.

You want to stay hydrated because dehydration can cause a stuffy nose to dry up and get hard and headaches.

To answer your last question, if a product relieves pain and headache due to cold, it means there is probably a pain reliever in it which will hide your symptoms making you feel better even if you aren't.

Good luck! Rest when you can and take more time to do stuff.

You may want to contact your doctor - you could have like you said a cold or it could be a sinus infection which can make you really feel crappy - stuffy nose, headache, sinus pressure and tiredness. I would have it checked out because a course of antibiotics and maybe a good nasal spray will make you feel better.

Lay off all the multiple drugs. Take Advil Cold and Sinus, it's the only one you need.

DO NOT TAKE EXCEDRIN.

It contains caffeine that can hurt rather than help.

try rubbing your temples with your fingers. or better yet get someone to do it for you. a friend of mines rubbed my temples until i went to sleep. try it. 4 the cold, just drink some hot lemon tea, take a shower, and get a thick quilt and take a nice long nap.
