In my case, Yes it is. It made a lot of difference.
Buddhism aims to awaken people to the limitless potential and value of their own lives. Buddhist philosophy and practice bring about a positive transformation in the depths of life, transforming fear into courage, deluded impulses into wisdom, and egotism to compassion.
Buddhism begins with individuals deciding to take responsibility for their own individual lives, reforming first themselves and their immediate surroundings and relations, and then gradually extending their wisdom, courage and compassion into a wider sphere.

Buddhist practice is a vehicle of individual empowerment. Each person has within the power to overcome life's inevitable challenges, to live a life of value and become a positive influence in one's community, society and the world.

I follow Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism.
SGI members follow the teachings of Nichiren, a Buddhist monk who lived in 13th century Japan. Nichiren asserted that every individual has the potential to become enlightened in his or her present lifetime.

It does seem to be very peaceful for a religion, and also very mature in the sense of accommodating understanding of the nature of the world. I do think that there are some myths in Buddhism, but belief in those myths doesn't seem to be taken as being as important as belief in the Christian or Islamic myths is.

I think it's a very peaceful religion.I lived across the street from a Buddhist temple for 3 years (and boy do you fellas know how to throw a party!!!).The monks always had a smile for me when ever I passed them on the street and if it weren't for the fact that I'm Wiccan, and very happy with my path, I'd convert to Buddhism.Probably one of the only reasons why I won't is because I just can't give up bacon double cheeseburgers.

I like the idea of Buddhism, I don't believe in reincarnation, but if there were some convincing evidence of it, I would be a Buddhist.

It is certainly one of the best of philosophies Perhaps Buddha never wished it to be a religion, nor he wanted to be worshiped as today are his images, the first of which had appeared about 200 years after his death.

I don't know anything about Buddhism but I'm going to get some reading material because it maybe the way I want to direct my life.

I've only heard positives things.

If one thinks that the Buddha is clean, bright and liberated and that sentient beings are dirty, dark and entangled in samsara, and, further, if one also uses this view to practice, then even though one perseveres through kalpas as numerous as the sand grains of the Ganges, one will not arrive at Bodhi.

Yes sure it is, and eventhough i'm not Buddhist i respect Buddhism and its rituals.

It is part of Hinduism, and Buddha is the 10th incarnation of a Hindu God, Vishnu.

It's just as absurd as all the others. I cannot honestly say that a belief in the supernatural is a "good" thing, much less a "great" thing.

The only good thing about it is that its adherents don't typically promote violence (to my knowledge).

Then again, buddhists invented kung-fu.
