Ive been an australian barmaid for the last 4 years and in all 3 pubs ive worked in none of them stock Fosters.
The most popular of beers is Victora Bitter, Swan Draught, Carlton Cold, Carlton Draught and Tooheys Exta Dry.

Good question, but no. It's just clever marketing by Fosters. Australians like drinking Toohey's, Boags, stuff like that.

Asking Aussies if they drink Fosters is like asking Irishmen if they drink Killians. In both cases the answer 85% of the time would be "no".

Fosters is Australian for Budweiser. It's a cheap beer for those who don't want to spend money.

Actaully they think it is not so good and tend to shy away from it for other beers. Great marketing!
