I have a rottweiler that is obsessed with rocks. She goes out and just chews on them, eats them, and brings them to the nearest human for a neverending game of fetch. Sometimes she is ok and others she comes in and throws up the rocks on my floor. I am not a professional and I am not sure it is normal however, I dont see how it can hurt. My dog has done this since she was 8 weeks old and she is now 5. I hope this helps

My dog doesn't eat stones. Stones can have disease that can kill the dog. If the dog is some how kept on your property, you might what to get all the stones off. If your dogs leaves you might what to keep it on your property. My best option I would do, is go talk to the vet unless you don't what to pay all the bills. But then you take the chance of your dog to die. Also it's probably hurts the dog when it comes out.

NO! And it can lead to very serious health issues. Intestinal blockages are the most common. Some dogs do it because of nutritional imbalance via diet or the body's inability to use nutrients properly (pancreatic insufficiency), or intestinal parasites are heavy and make them feel so hungry they eat rocks. Once and only once you've ruled out a medical reason, you can take steps to do behavorial modification,

many animals will eat rock/stones when in need of certain minerals. I suggest taking your dog to the vet to see what suppliments are needed. A rock could do a lot of damage to the digestive tract of your pet.

No! I would recommend seeing or talking to a vet about this as quickly as possible.

Just for curiosity's sake, how big of stones are we talking about here?

My 2 year old pit bull eats rocks all the time, I'm constantly pulling them out of her mouth, because it scares me, but she seems to love it, and I haven't noticed any problems with her. Her teeth are all fine, and no bleeding in her poop, but sometimes she throws them up. I guess it's ok, as long as it's not cutting up their insides.
