I learned it in about 5th grade from one of my friends who learned it from an older cousin (by talking I hope). My parents never said a word about it.

I was 10 and heard it from my mom. Three days later, I got my period. Talk about not having a lot of time to let it sink in! My dad won't talk about sex with me, but he will with my brother but only the bare minimum (wrap it up, be careful, etc)

It is sad that today with all the talk about sex and seeing sex on TV and movies, parents don't talk to their children about sex. Most kids do learn some correct aspects about sex from their peers. I guess I was a lucky guy, my father was very candid about sex and the whole birds and bees thing. He told me most every thing that he thought I needed to know. I was about 12 or 13 as I remember.

Our first talk about when my mother discovered stains on my bed sheets. This i found out later in life. My father was really cool and calm about the issue but I could tell he was not really glad about the idea. But after a while he was and it was easy to ask him questions about this sex stuff.

Good Luck

I can't remember the first time I found out what sex was. But I'm pretty sure I didn't learn it all at once. I think smaller bits of info came at me from many different places. However, I don't remember my parents really sitting down and explaining it to me either.

I was in the second grade and my fifth grade friend told me about it because she had sex with her 7th grade boyfriend. I then learned about sex and bodily functions in the fifth grade. The day before my wedding my mom decides it's time to have the birds and bees talk...boy did she get an education..LOL

i learned it early, around 4 or 5, because my mom was straight forward with me. she didnt give TOO much info, but she didnt sugar coat anything either. i appreciate that because im a firm believer in teaching your children about sex at home, because that shouldnt be the school's responsibility.
