I have this habit of hating where I live. I don't know why.
I live in a safe and prosporous lively city but I still feel empty and I'm always thinking about living in other places for various reasons.

Anybody else feel the same way, or am I just a freak?

What a coincidence that I happened upon your question. If you're a freak then you're not alone because up until a month ago I felt the very same way.

I had spent years in the mountains of North Carolina. I was restless the entire time. People attributed that to many things. Finally I couldn't take it anymore. My heart kept calling me to the water, specifically Charleston, SC. My first choice is Ghent, Belgium and Charleston was the closest European-flavored city and it was surrounded by water. I found a job opening in a nearby city. I cross three long beautiful bridges and gaze at the rivers and ocean and am in heaven. Why didn't I do this years ago? Wanted to play it safe I guess. The move has been very freeing. People who know me well say that I look ten years younger and that I'm so full of life. Don't wait years like I did. In your soul you know where you want to be. Make it happen!

I love where I live...Cairns, Queensland, Australia...

its beautiful all year round, so long as you can deal with the heat during summer...

we have the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage Daintree Rainforest right on our door step...

people come from all over the world to stay in Cairns and I am constantly being told by tourists how lucky I am to live here...I just tell them that I already know!

I don't like the city. Too much traffic, noise, crime, and psycho neighbors.
Give me the countryside any day!!
