I'm not big on dating websites, but my take on this is that you want to give someone an idea of who you are without making them sit through a book. Give them the book version of you slowly and in stages if you two decide to talk.

I'm not big on dating sites, most of the guys I've met from the net were on some miscellaneous site and we built a repore over time over normal conversation and getting to know each other. On dating sites most peoples profiles show too much desperation or inability to tell you about themselves properly which usually gives you a false view anyway. I prefer to just talk to people and learn about them naturally without them trying to impress me or make themselves sound a certain way.

I like getting the main details...what you look like, how you spend your time, your interests, etc. Everything else can be talked about on a first online chat...or date.

I like a profile where the men say EXACTLY what they are looking for---I mean if you are looking for a f-buddy than say that, if you are looking for someone to do stuff cuz you are tired of doing them alone that say that, get it?
