I want to send a card to someone I'm just not sure about the stamp part. is it just one?

just one 39 cent stamp unless it's a extra big card and says extra postage required than 2 stamps

You can send mail anywhere in the United States for the same price per ounce. The distance has no bearing on the price. A one ounce letter is 39 cents.

If it's sent within the United States, it's local delivery and no stamp is needed.
