A rear-projection TV that big for such a low price is almost certainly a cathode ray tube (CRT) type. That is obsolete technology and the set is probably a discontinued model. These factors in themselves are not the main reason to question the purchase, it's just that the picture quality and reliablilty is not up to current standards. You can get DLP and LCD projectors now that have 1920 x 1080 lines of resolution. It is unlikely that that TV can display more than 1000 lines horizontal resolution, regardless of what you put into it. AT least make sure the store has a 30-day return policy.

Before you buy this, as good a deal as it may sound, look at both flat panel plasmas and LCD, as well as rear projector DLP or LCD (use a Sony SXRD set as a reference standard). Compare directly with the same type of program material with the set you are considering. If you feel that you can live with the quality you get from the CRT set, then it's a good deal.

i bought a media projector from best buy. it has jacks for the computer, and your tv, s-video and regular rca plugs. it projects a screen on the wall to any size you want. right now it is covering my entire living room wall. and the projector is small like a vcr so it is protable. but it costs around $1100. but wow what a big screen! i can even take it outside and project it onto the side of the whole house! Picture quality is better than any big screen tv. hope this helps.

Honestly......I wouldnt buy a television that you cant see if youre on a angle. I wouldnt if I wasnt 100% sure. Just think about what could go wrong with it, and think about the price. That right there would make me think twice. Especially a Magnavox! I think RCA is a lot better. I've had this tv that Im watching over 20yrs. And nothing has gone wrong with it! :) Good Luck! :)
