Actually I am asking this question because I am getting some flack from the local yocals where I live about employing "Those kinds of people". I have a reputation for employing anyone who is qualified be they gay, straight, bi, les, leather, ts/tg/tv,...ect.

I really had no idea that was "wrong" :::LOL:::

To start with it doesn't matter what type lifestyle employees live, it is illegal to discriminate. It doesn't matter if you know or not - it isn't don't ask don't tell - it's don't ask but if you find out you cant do anything either. If you have local yokels complaining about it then that's their problem. You probably have far more customers who can offset those close minded people

My employees are judged by the work they do for me. They were hired to perform a job and if they perform that to the expected level then they will receive their paycheck at the end of the week and continue to be employed by my company. The questions asked on the job application and throughout the interview process are what matters to the company. Obviously they can perform the jobs required because they were hired and continue to be. Personal life does not effect performance in this case.

Move out of San Frasco or place in NY can't remember. All joking aside If I own company that I invested large chunk of my life and resources, would first find way to deal with health care benefits. Establish don't ask don't tell policy. Make sure I had backups for all critically important people. I don't care what mature moderately considerate honest people do in their private lives.

I wouldnt do anything unless it started to get in the way of their work ethics or availability.
Being a employer does not mean that you have the right to invade a employees personal life.
If they have a lifestyle detrimental to good work and or habits then you have to take matters in hand.
Until then, I would not concern myself.

Look at how they're doing their *job*, which is what they have been hired for, not their ability to either hide their so-called "alternative lifestyle" or to live a more "traditional lifestyle."

I'm sorry to come off nasty, but I'm smelling a civil rights lawsuit in the making right here.

Rexamine your own values if your opinion of these employees has changed in any way following this disclosure. You are either way deep in denial to have not noticed it before, or you were in some way comfortable with their lifestyle choices. If their work is great, who cares what their lifestyles are?

An employees lifestyle is none of the employers business, And an employer that concerns himself/herself with such matters could be sued and lose the employer title real fast.

as an employer I would not care.

as long as they do the job and do it well what they do in their personal lives is none of my business.

unless of course I am in a business where that could have negative consequences. Such as running a religious organization.Then that might be a problem

Which alternate lifestyle? Are they into S&M, cross dressing, or soemthing else?

If by alternate lifestyle, do you mean a different sexual orientaiton than heterosexual, there are five others, which do you refer to?

Attaction to the same sex;
Attraction to both sexes;
Attraction to neither sex;
Attraction to animals;
Attractions to children.

I'm sure the last two you may want to do something about.
