My 7 yr old daughter was very sick when she was 2 &3. She had very high fevers that wouldn't break w/medicine and lasted many days at a time. She would get many rashes. One was petechia. She also had much joint pain without swelling. Doctors would diagnose her and then come back and say they were wrong. They still don't know what was/is wrong (she still has symptoms without fevers). She hasn't been through tests in a while and she now has new symptoms. We go to the lake during the weekends and she always has red across the bridge of her nose onto her cheek bones. We use sunblock and she doesn't burn anywhere else. Also, her eyes (mainly her left) swells a little, itches and hurts. It goes away within a day after returning home. Can anyone please tell me what is going on with my daughter? The specialists that her pediatrician said were needed don't seem to have the answers. What the doctors thought she had... Kawasaki Disease, Chronic Mono, Parvo, Leukemia but... she didn't

Dear Mom,
Please have your daughter check for pediatric Lupus . What you described is a Mylar rash (nose and cheeks). It is a autoimmune genetic disease causing system wide symptoms.
KEEP HER OUT OF THE SUN and be careful of fluorescent lighting.
She should always wear SUNBLOCK ( not sunscreen!!!!)
Have her tested by a pediatric Rheaumatologist. Start writing all symptoms down in a journal and keep track ALL symptoms no matter how small or unimportant it seems....it all adds up to help with a diagnoses.( By the way all other symptom you described are are also part of the diagnoses) Good Luck!
I have dealt with this disease as a patient and as a facilitator ( both in children and adults) for over 20 years.
You can contact me if you wish...I`m a patient advocate and counselor for aoutoimmune diseases.

Has anyone looked into Lupus as a possible diagnosis? Although your daughter is still young (most people are diagnosed after age 15) there's always the possibility. What makes me wonder is the rash you described as across her nose and cheeks. I myself get this "butterfly" rash when I'm under stress or in the sun too much. The other symptoms you describe also align with such a diagnosis-but unfortunately, the symptoms of Lupus mimic so many other illnesses. (It took several years for me to "get an answer", so you'll have to be patient, regardless.)

,Leave the doctors, they obviously can't help her. May I suggest you stay away from the sunblock, it contains ingredients that are carcinogenic. She might as well take up smoking.
Have you looked at the diet, too much junk, processed, manufactured foods & drinks, does she wear a lot of man made fibres, nylons & polyesters etc...Is she taking any medications?
Do yourself and your daughter a favour look up Elaine Hollingsworth site details below. You can get her book from the library on loan called 'Take Control of your Health and Escape the sickness industry' Hope some of it helps.

Sounds to me like she has very bad allergies, and the reason she had fever before is bcause she was smaller, but as she gets bigger she is coping better with it. I bet she has headachs too. the joint pain comes with fever.

could be allergies...my eye swells up when it gets near dust or pollen or something, then it goes away...im talkin eyeball, not the eyelids...that would explain the rashes and the redness on her face too...maybe she's not meant to be around the lake u guys take her to

If it happens only when you go to the lake it could be something in the air. Pores of mold or cedar pollen etc. The only way to avoid this is to stop going to the lake!

If it were my daugther I would find a holistic store and try what ever they suggest.
After all the One that designed her body said that the leaves of the trees are for our healing, not doctors drugs.

I don't know if one of the specialists you have seen was a hematologist (blood disorders) or not, but that may be your best option.
